CHAPTER 39: SPUN INTO HORROR

Aayu did not scream out loud.
Her jaws were paralyzed.
She heard her scream from inside.
"Shree?"

15 minutes earlier.

Aayu walked down the Grand Resort Parking lot.
"Shree has never been this unusually late. She must have met someone on her way back," Aayu said to herself.
She suddenly stopped.
The echo of her footsteps thundered around the deserted parking space.
She glided her eyeballs from left to right.
Then smiled.
She took a deep breath and said, "Jungkook, come out now! You can't hide from me!"

"Aish!" the maknae stepped out from behind an SUV and sighed as Aayu turned to him, " how did you know it was me?!"
"Do you expect your girlfriend to not recognise you by your footsteps?" Aayu asked.

Jungkook smiled at her.

"I wouldn't be seeing you from tomorrow Aayu."

Aayu bit her lip. She grabbed Jungkook's wrist.

"So what?" she said, "we'll remember each other, wouldn't we?"

Jungkook nodded.
"WE'LL BE THERE FOR EACH OTHER," He said.

Jungkook pulled Aayu into a hug. They embraced each other as Aayu placed a small peck on his neck.
"I'll miss you."
He whispered.

"Aish Kook! Now go back to your hyungs , I'll be back with Shree."
Aayu said.

"I'll come with you," He said.

"I'll bring her. Namjoon must be waiting. "

"Aayu, " Jungkook started, " I want to spend more and more time with you."

"Aish,  jinjja! We have the whole night left JK! Donot worry,  I'll be back in minutes."

Jungkook pouted.
"Okay."

He turned and left.
Aayu laughed at herself and walked out of the parking lot to the extended bungalow space of Grand Resort. The tent was set up here.

But as soon as she entered the bungalow,  she smelt something burning.  A strong smell.  Very very strong.
Her eyes widened in horror.  She ran out to the backyard.
And that's when she heard.
And saw.

The tent, blazing in horrifying flames.
And the screams.
SHREE.

Aayu froze there.
She took unsteady breathes.
The yellow and orange flames glistened on her eyeballs.
"Sh..Shre..Shree..." She finally let her tongue loose.

But Aayu didn't even think of calling someone to save her. There was nobody in the  nearest radius and calling someone from the mandap grounds could be a very bad decision.
A really bad one.

So the only thing she could do was, save Shree herself.

And Aayu would do it.
