Lance looks up to the stars, He misses her. Its been a year since everything, and something still doesn't feel right. The blue marks on his face was a daily reminder of what he lost. Or, of who. He looks down at the Juniberry flower fields. The pink glows in the night somehow, outside looks like a bed of soft petals, ready to be picked, they really do shine. The empty feeling grows inside. He looks up to the night sky one last time before he decides to go to sleep. He needs to let go.
The sun shines through the white-lace curtains in front of the window, casting rays of yellow light into his room. He gets up slowly and the wood creaks beneath his feet. Suddenly he is standing in front of a mirror, he sees His altean marks, a constant reminder of what happened, what feels like so long ago. He changes into a blue tee shirt and soft, dark blue jeans. He slips on some tennis shoes and walks into the living room. All is quiet. He listens closely to the warm, bubbling sound from the kitchen, only a room away. The coffee pot is heating up some coffee, the fresh, bitter scent fills the kitchen air. Someone was already, most likely, up. He looks outside and sees people working on the farm in the warm, dewey, spring morning. The flowers still glistened as they did with the stars shining down on them. Suddenly lances phone buzzes. "Hey, are you coming?" A text appeared on his phone. "Ugh, I forgot." Lance groaned. The former paladins were meeting up to grab lunch at hunks restaurant, then go to a beach. "Yeah, I'll meet you guys soon." He texted back. "Alright." He didn't even know who he was texting, but he was sure it was one of the paladins.
Lance walked over to a tiny closet in the hallway, He rummaged through the dark closet, the light from his phone showed what was there, it didn't help all that much but it was fine. "Good morning," Veronica said, ruffling lances hair and patting him on the back. "Goodmorning," Lance replied. "Where are you off to?" "How did you know I was going somewhere?" "I can just tell' She smirked. "Ah! found it!" He pulled a brown satchel out of the closet. It has a lot (maybe too many) pockets. Veronica just looked over at him then poured two cups of coffee, A blue cup with white polka dots and a white one with purple flowers on it. She handed the blue cup to Lance and sipped on the white cup. Lance took a big gulp and ran out the door. "Thanks!" Veronica sighed.
Lance walked down the sidewalk, he didn't live too far from hunks restaurant. He was so excited to see them, he had seen hunk and pidge often, but he hadn't seen Keith or Shiro in a while. He was walking faster at the thought of seeing them. In view he sees the large restaurant, the bright, yellow lights coming from the inside. He smiled a faint smile and walked faster. His eyes lit up at the sight of Hunk. He opened a door and a jingle could be heard from it. He saw hunk turn around. He looked like a beam of sunlight. He was so happy to see him. They both ran over to each other and hugged. Hunk nearly squeezed the air out of him. "How have you been, Lance? I've missed you so much!" "Thank you hunk, I've been good." Another jingle sound came from the door. A small girl wearing green with orangey-blonde-brown hair came running up. They all group hugged. Smiling and laughing was heard all throughout the restaurant. "Hunk, don't you have to cook?" Pidge asked. "Actually it's my day off!" They all sat in peace waiting for Coran, Shiro, and Keith.
Suddenly, they were all together. The warm smiles lit up their faces. Lance looks at every one of his friends and picks out something he loves about them. Pidge, Smart, Analytical, a good friend. Hunk, Trustworthy, Hardworking, and empathetic. Shiro, A natural born leader, A good person, someone to look up to. Coran, Reliable, fun and, the right amount of wacky. Keith,- " Hey what do you guys want to eat. I'll pay." Shiro said. "No, you don't have to shi-" "No, its, fine. I got it." A waitress walked over and asked them what drinks they want. Soon they were all finishing up. "Are we going to get out of here and go to the beach or what?" Pidge said. "Of course, pidge." They all walk out of the big yellow restaurant heading to the beach.
