Magnus was really excited for today, today was the day Annabeth and Percy were coming to Boston for some sort of mission. After copious amounts of begging, the two of them agreed to come and meet Alex and him in a small coffee shop that they frequented oftenly. Cafe Latte was often frequented by the couple because of their delectable lattes and sweet treats. It was just a bonus that Samirah works there part-time for college money.
The conversation started out simple enough, but as the hours progressed, it became more of an aggressive debate between Alex and Magnus about the best way to decapitate someone. That's when the conversation started to get ugly. Annabeth was engrossed in the conversation, going as far as to even take notes about all of the techniques they listed. Percy, on the other hand, was worried about mortals hearing their conversation and the approaching fight between them. He tried to shush them when the mortals started looking at them with irritation and curiosity, finally giving up he walked over to Samirah who was working at the till to help him quiet them down. When even that didn't help she sent them out of the cafe and back to the hotel to settle their dispute.
"Fine, let's go, Magnus, we are so continuing this conversation properly." Alex sneered at Magnus. At this Magnus started paling drastically knowing that he was going to be taught exactly how to decapitate someone in the most painful way possible. One the two of them had left, Annabeth started pouting because her source of knowledge and power was taken away. Percy was slightly worried about what would happen to Magnus one they were somewhere more private. He tried to get up and follow them, but Samirah pushed him back into his seat saying, "It'll be better this way, they'll be fine. I just finished my shift so I'll wait with you guys to see what Alex did to him this time."
With each passing second that the couple didn't return Percy started panicking more and more, "What do you mean this time? What happened last time?" it took the two girls almost 20 minutes before his breathing slowed and became calm again. Just as he turned calm, Alex strolled through the door as if Magnus had never been there. "What happened to Magnus?" Percy asked worriedly only half wanting the answer. "Hm? Oh him," Alex replied a bit surprisedly, "I taught him exactly how painful you can make a decapitation." Samirah chuckled glad that the issue had been resolved, "Well, I had better get going home, Percy and Annabeth, it was a pleasure meeting you. Safe travels home."
Everybody said their goodbyes to her as she walked out the door. Turning to Alex for a more thorough explanation about Magnus' disappearance, "How exactly can you show him a painful decapitation without killing him? Wait, Wise girl didn't you go to his funeral or something? Although he seemed pretty alive to me." Alex and Annabeth looked at each other and promptly started laughing at the ridiculousness of his question. Percy looked slightly hurt but mostly confused about why they were laughing at him.
"Don't worry about him, he's perfectly fine. If he's lucky he'll be back for supper, if not then tomorrow morning. To answer your other question, yes, your girlfriend here did go to his funeral, but so did Samirah and Magnus. Stop looking so scandalized! If it makes you feel better, I'm dead too. Shush, stop screaming! It's pretty chill actually, we get to die valiantly every day, stop freaking out, Annie control your boyfriend, thank you, as I was saying we die and the next morning bam! we're alive again," Alex explained to a hyperventilating Percy, "I've got to get going, see you again sometime. Bye."
Once Alex leaves, Percy started freaking out about the fact that Magnus and Alex are dead. She just laughed at him and assured him that Magnus was perfectly fine. Dragging Percy out of the cafe, Percy proclaimed that he's been scarred for life. Laughing at her boyfriend, Annabeth dragged him back home.
