EPISODE SEVEN solving a problem by creating another —
it was on a night of a long and tiring 12 hour shift, where in which seolhyun finally left the hospital. it was so late it might as well been morning, a hint of orange peeking up at the edge of the skyline.
"bye seokjin." seolhyun said waving tiredly at her boss, who was strangely at the exit of the hospital, as if he knew exactly when seolhyun was leaving.
you could call it strange, or you just leave it at it just being coincidence, seen as most of the time the doctors are running around the hospital in a frenzy.
taking no notice of this, seolhyun walked out, head heavy as all she could think about was collapsing on her soft bed, which seemed ever so appealing right this moment.
seolhyun walked to the bus stop only to be faced with disappointment. not realising the time -which was 3:55 am meaning she had walked out of her way to go to the bus stop when the buses had stopped running.
sighing out of pure frustration, seolhyun turned around, and started walking slowly, her tired feet dragging on the pavement each step she took.
after about 15 minutes seolhyun was now given two options; one, continue walking on the sidewalk for another 15 minutes or two, walk down an alley way which would only take 5 minutes.
she turned to her right, where the alleyway was situated, it was barely lit, and the only streetlamp was more of a greenie white colour than the orangey-yellow it was supposed to be. the green light flickered every few seconds creating a not so welcoming atmosphere.
deciding that she wanted to get home as quick of possible, she started walking down the alley way.
the alley way seemed to get darker and more eerie the further she got into the black street.
it seemed like an eternity before seolhyun started to see the small light at the end of the alley, however seolhyun stopped walking as she heard what she thought was footsteps.
quickly, she turned around, only to be greeted with darkness. her tired eyes squinted as she tried to make out anything in this darkness.
making nothing of it she turned around and started walking again, however as she started walking, the footsteps behind her quickened, almost matching the speed of her pounding heartbeat.
now seolhyun was more awake than ever, someone was following her. seolhyun ran, she ran for her life, she isn't athletic or anything, so her running speed was probably equivalent to her walking speed but hey it's the thought that counts right?
just as she was about to come out of the alley way she noticed a tall figure standing there, still, not moving.
"fuck." she said under her panting breath as she grew closer and closer to the person in front of her, as the person behind came nearer and nearer.
"duck!" the person in front of her shouted, she assumed at her. so without hesitation she ducked quicker than she thought her body could move. before she can even look up to have a glance at whoever is in the obsidian black alley way, seolhyun heard a gunshot. she instantly covered her head with her arms and froze.
footsteps came closer, and closer, the sound was so obnoxious that seolhyun felt like she was wearing headphones and listening to somebody walking.
"i told you i'd get back to you sweet heart." a sickeningly sexy voice said, one she had unfortunately been able to recognise.
jungkook.
seolhyun looked up to be greeted with the one and only jungkook, his dark hair messy and ruffled while having pistol in hand. seolhyun hesitantly stood up, legs wobbly as she didn't take her eyes off jungkook.
"sweet heart." jungkook said, reaching out to take ahold of seolhyun's wrist. "i told you i'd get back to you." he said as he started walking out of the alley way.
seolhyun didn't move alongside jungkook, she turned around and gazed at the figure that she could just about make out in the darkness.
laying on the ground was a man, blood painted across his head and the ground beneath him. it was at this time when jungkook stopped walking too.
"it was either you or him seolhyun." jungkook stated, no hint of regret in his voice.
"y-you killed him?" she knew that he did for a fact, but it came out as a question.
jungkook sighed, taking a stronger grip of her wrist and started walking again, this time making sure she followed. "i saved you seolhyun." jungkook explained. "lord knows what he would've done."
but seolhyun wasn't really listening, she had seen death, being a doctor she'd seen worse injuries than that, but being so close to 'death' and partially knowing the person who caused another death had not been something that she was used to.
seolhyun was so deep in thought she didn't realise when jungkook has stopped walking, and was now staring at her. "you gonna get in the car or what?" he said, a small smile creeping on his face.
seolhyun snapped back into reality as she noticed the black car in front of her. jungkook opened the car door and gestured for her to step inside. "don't worry darling, we'll look after ya."
hesitantly seolhyun ducked and stepped inside the car, now facing kihyun, who had an emphatic look on his face.
she heard the shutting of another car door, followed by the clicking of a seatbelt.
"jungkook what have you done." yoongi. yoongi was here. seolhyun's heart slowed down slightly, as she never even took notice of the male sitting in front of her.
"i have gotten a solution to one of our problems." jungkook said proudly
"no," yoongi started "you've created another problem." yoongi said through gritted teeth before starting the engine and began driving off into the darkness.
