EPISODE 10
i put all my trust in you, whether it was for better or for worse. —
there she was. crouched down beside the front door with her head in her hands and her hair protecting the sides of her face. seolhyun was sitting there, frozen almost. yoongi sighed quietly before slowly approaching the her. he assumes that the only reason that seolhyun didn't run straight out of the door was because it was locked, assumes that she probably hates him for bringing her here, even though he didn't intend in any of this. but sometimes you've got to be selfish right?
yoongi slowly sat down next to seolhyun on the floor, his back colliding with the wall causing him to wince in pain; for a minute he didn't say anything, just listened to her soft breathing and he imagined how fast her heart is beating right now. yoongi has always been good at reading people, it was one of his specialties he supposes, comes in handy most of the time.
"hey seol." he said softly, trying has hard as he could to not make his voice sound intimidating or aggressive. seolhyun didn't reply however, and he softly tapped her shoulder. she slowly looked up and faced yoongi. her face was paler than usual and she looked sad, hurt. "i'm sorry, for like everything that has happened." he told her, his voice actually sincere. "but we really need the help." he said looking into her eyes, seolhyun looked away as they made eye contact. "please?" yoongi asked. "come on seol, y'know i don't say please." yoongi said raising an eyebrow, laughing at himself once again. history just loves to repeat its self right?
yoongi stood up, gaining the attention of the girl. "have you been star gazing yet?" yoongi asked, stretching out his arm for seolhyun to take ahold of. seolhyun shook her head and yoongi genuinely smiled. "good." is all he said before grabbing seolhyun's hand and pulling her up, not letting go of her hand for even one second he unlocked the door and they both walked out into the night hand in hand.
after around five minutes of walking and seolhyun sluggishly trailing behind yoongi came to a sudden stop. they were in a forest of some sort, with trees as tall as buildings towering around them, however as seolhyun looked up there was a perfect circle, a clear patch with no trees that showed the beautiful night sky. the stars were twinkling almost as brightly as yoongi's smile as he looked at seolhyun's face, for the first time today she seemed- happy he thought, although yoongi is going to pretend he didn't just feel something else in chest other than the pain.
"i need to sit down." yoongi groaned as he let go of seolhyun's hand for the first time and sat down on the grass. seolhyun followed suit and sat beside yoongi.
"you need rest." seolhyun told him, her voice laced with concern however yoongi told her this is how i rest and he laid down on the soft grass, seolhyun wasn't in the mood to argue so she let him be.
yoongi grabbed seolhyun's arm and pulled her down to lay next to him. "i don't want to be that guy," yoongi started, turning his head to look at seolhyun's side profile. "but only i come to this place, it's sort of my little place you know." he said before adding, "so you're lucky to be here is what i'm trying to say." which made seolhyun laugh a little, she herself is surprised she laughed at such a thing.
"thanks." she said so quietly yoongi could just about here. there was a comfortable silence between the two before seolhyun started the conversation.
"who was that?" she turned to look at yoongi who was already looking right at her. "the guy in the video i mean." she continued, looking back at the stars because it's easier for her heart not looking at yoongi.
"jimin, park jimin." yoongi answered. "he was a doctor, like you." he said and seolhyun felt some sadness in the words that yoongi said, she didn't like where this was going, the way that yoongi's voice suddenly became raspy again and the fact he had to clear his throat before speaking.
"i don't know if you've realised this yet, but we aren't good people." yoongi choose to say, the good enough to have someone like youwith us stayed unsaid. "we- well to put it simply we hurt people, kill people." his voice sounded calm to seolhyun's ears although in reality he was scared of what she thought. "we're not like them, we don't just go round killing, but we do what we have to do i guess. we live in a world where it's kill or be killed." yoongi told her and seolhyun was surprised to say the least. she doesn't know why she didn't run, now would've been a perfect opportunity, yoongi is injured, he couldn't run that far without hurting himself more, and maybe it would've made everything easier, but she didn't, she choose to stay, to listen.
yoongi looked back up at the night sky. "there's not that many of us left." yoongi said in a way that caused seolhyun's heart to drop, he said it in a way that made it seemed like they had all be wiped out, whatever that was supposed to mean. "we saved each other but we can't always save them all." seolhyun looked at yoongi, he didn't look back but she could see the hurt in his eyes and hear the sadness in his voice.
"but seolhyun if you please please just help us, just this once maybe we won't lose this, those them." he seemed sincere, so sincere but seolhyun just didn't know, she didn't know anything, didn't know how to reply, how to even help. "i'm not asking for you to do anything illegal, just for you to do your job, save our lives." and for some reason that really hit seolhyun hard. save our lives, she feels like she owes yoongi, for when he saved her, but surely that was the decent thing to do, but isn't this also?
"and i promise that after we save jimin and taehyung i'll leave you, ill never contact you again or disturb you, you want money? i'll give it to you." yoongi said now getting serious. he sat up and seolhyun could see the pain in his face even though he tried to shrug it off. "give me a number how much do you want."
"yoongi stop." seolhyun said also sitting up. she crossed her legs and faced yoongi. "i don't exactly know what i'm signing myself up for here but, i'll help." she said hesitantly, yoongi's face instantly lighting up as he let out a sigh of relief.
"but on two conditions." she furthered and yoongi looked at her as if to continue talking. "first thing, you've got to let me treat your wounds, and you need to actually get some rest." she said looking at yoongi and he rolled his eyes. "and secondly you've got to stop this."
"stop what." he argued back acting as if he's done absolutely nothing wrong and seolhyun sighed.
"whatever this is you're doing. it's clearly not working out well for you is it."
"can't promise that seol." is all yoongi replied and seolhyun gave him a serious look.
"then i can't promise i'll help." and at that yoongi gave her a near enough death stare, his eyes piercing through her skin and seolhyun doesn't know how someone can change persona so quickly.
"fine." yoongi said, too unbothered to argue, it's not like this promise means anything. "i promise to stop these activities which you deem pointless after you save our sorry little asses." yoongi said and seolhyun smiled softly.
"then you've got yourself a deal."
- ayyyy this is hopefully where the real fun begins
what do you guys think of yoongi ?
do you think seolhyun is too trusting?
