CHAPTER 16
JASON

Breathing in and out. In. Out. Stand. Sit. Stand again. Pace. Then back again.
That’s what I have been doing for the past twenty or thirty minutes since I was taking on watch for the night while Leo did the work for the ship. And hopefully by daylight or sometime tomorrow, we can finally get back on track again.
This quest, everything in my life had always been hectic and crazy, and sometimes, I would wish that nothing was true.
But of course, wishes never come true. Never did. Never does. Never will.
But then whenever I’d wish for that, it’s not everything that I would like to change. No. I just want a normal life; maybe go to high school and college with Piper as my girlfriend then the seven and the people who mean to me now, still with me. In the future, I could have Piper as my wife, then maybe Nico as the best man, or maybe Percy.
And just on that thought alone, I remembered everything that happened the last time Nico and I had been together alone and his confession about Percy. Never in a thousand years would have I guess something like that.
But then again, that had been the truth, which was what really happened so I had no say but to just believe that it happened or look like a fool not believing.
I didn’t almost catch the glimpse of light coming from the forest until it was approximately about seven to ten feet away from me. And it wasn’t just any light, the light was just following a glowing lady with caramel blonde hair, going with a bright yellow long dress, and a heavily caked face with make-up. Which I think should prettify people but only made her looked like someone from China with full red lips.
No offense to her, but she looked ridiculous enough to me.
“My daughter’s boyfriend shouldn’t think that way to her relationship’s mother.” Her shrill voice piercing through the night and made my breath hitch in my throat as I mulled the sentence over and over.
She couldn’t be Piper’s mother.
“Oh, but I am Jason” She said with smugness that put me on edge and wondered how she could read my mind. “I don’t read minds Jason, I hear them and yours are too loud” She said and to put emphasis, she covered her ears.
I wondered if she really did but something lulled in my mind wanting me to believe her, the same way when Piper persuades only hers seems like poison dripping and intoxicating.
“Well, I’m here not about your relationship with my daughter, well partly, but I’m here to offer you choices Jason, and it’s your choice to decide” She said, and slowly walked to where I am standing and noticed that she had begun walking earlier though I didn’t seem to notice it.
“What?” I said before I could even take it back, I wasn’t meaning to say anything but my mouth took better control of me. And I said I used to have great mind control.
“It would be easier if I showed it to you instead.” She said and before seeing her hand, it had already touched a part of my hand. In an instant, I was surrounded by blinding light, then in some sort of tunnel.
