CHAPTER FIVE

The next week went by fairly quick. Probably because I was suspended until today, having nothing better to do than read or sleep all week.

I drag myself out of bed, feeling completely dead.

Maybe that's all I am; all I'll ever be.

Dead.

Dead before death... Does that even make sense?

I shake my head. Whatever, it's too early for my brain to function properly.

After finishing my usual morning routine -- brush teeth, straighten hair, get dressed, take pill -- I'm walking towards my bus stop. Oh, and not smoking my usual morning cigarette. Thanks to a certain somebody.

I stare down at the sidewalk. My fingers are starting to twitch, but I don't know why. I let out a deep sigh, furrowing my eyebrows.

A car horn beeps behind me, causing me to jump. I turn around to see No-Name and James, pulling up next to me in an old red Mustang.

My eyes are as wide as a deer's eyes when caught in an oncoming car's headlights. I freeze, not moving an inch as No-Name opens the passenger side window.

"Get in." He commands.

I switch glances back and forth between the two, James at the drivers seat and No-Name in the passenger seat.

I'm getting really tired of calling him No-Name. A spark of confidence flickers throughout me.

"Uh, n-not until you tell me y-your name first." I stutter.

Hey, I said a spark not a bonfire.

"Please." I squeak.

They both stare back at me, obviously amused.

"You know, it's not very important to me that you get in this car." He chuckles, "We can leave you there without you knowing my name, or you can leave with us, without you knowing my name. You pick."

I glance at James, who does nothing but smile.

"Fine." I huff. It's better than taking the bus, really.

My hands grasps the back door's handle. I get inside of the car, taking a seat.

"Seatbelt." No-Name orders me.

Ah, dear No-Name, I don't really wear seatbelt's.

"I'm fine without it." I reply quietly.

James has already began driving, so it's not like he can threaten me to buckle up or get out.

No-Name sighs, looking actually very irritated. Why?

"Um, can you please tell me your name now? Either that, or I just won't talk to you at all anymore. I mean, I know you don't actually care but-" I ramble on, "I'm just saying. It would be kind of odd to keep talking to you without knowing you-"

"My name's Justin, damn." He lets out, sounding pretty annoyed.

"Sorry." I reply so quietly, I don't think he heard me.

Gah, why am I so annoying?

That's just who you are. Danielle, the annoying little brat.

I mutter a 'shut up' under my breath.

I allow my head to lean against the window, staring at the world as it zooms by. Kind of like life I guess, just zooming by, until we're just... nothing.

You're already nothing.

I nod my head, shutting my eyes as I agree with my own mind as if I were two people in one body.
