You ran. Your lungs burned but you knew that if your father caught up with you your beating would be bad. But if you stopped running now, you would be able to walk tomorrow. You made the illogical decision to keep running. "Y/n!!!" You hear your father scream "Get your ass back here!!!" His screams of pure rage sent your adrenaline pumping. Your gaze set on the huge mountain ahead of you. Mount Ebott, it would be hard to climb, but your athleticism would probably make it easier, and since your father was over weight it would be hard for him to climb. A bonus factor would be the mountain was covered in trees and brush, making a whole lot of cover for you. You ran up the mountain as your father followed right behind. "Y-y/n!!!!" He wheezed. You took a glance behind you. Your father looked at you, hatred in his eyes. You saw so much of yourself in him, and that's what you hated. He took your moment of weakness for granted and took one last burst of speed up towards you. You jumped back just in time, only to land in a soft patch of grass. Your father collapsed, as you scrambled with your footing. You finally made it to your feet and turned, running more up the mountain. It was starting to get steep, but you kept running. You had only made it about 8 ft. from where you had fallen when your foot fell into a small hole and the ground beneath you collapsed. You where now falling deep into the mountain. Only one thing came to mind. You pulled out the only photo you still had of your mother, and looked at it. You felt tears fall as you held it and whispered. "See you soon ma...."
