Chapter 17

Nathan got clothes for us, I took a shower and wash my hair. After we finish clean up Nathan made breakfast. 

After breakfast he decided to drive me back to the beach house.

I miss my family already

"Can I drive?" I asked standing at the driver's side.

"No Sweetie" he replies.

I stood my grounds "Why?" I pout.

"Because I promise Grandma I will bring you back safe now go into the passenger seat" he said.

"But it's not like have never driven before!" I whined.

He rolls his eyes and tosses me the keys "You don't take no for an answer".

I stick my tongue out and hop in the driver's seat.

"Hey buckle up" he demanded before I could drive off.

I buckle up then pull out on the highway.

I smile it's being a long time since I have drive and I miss driving.

"Don't you want a new car since you ditch that purple Lamborghini? " he asked.

I sigh "I have to check my bank account to see how much money has been saving and if it's enough maybe I will purchase a car" I shrug.

"I could buy you_"

"No Nathan don't even think about that" I interjected.

I came upon a red light I stopped the car waiting patiently for the light to switch.

"Why can't I buy my girlfriend a car?" he asked.

I blushed still can't get used to it, it's being a long time since have been in a relationship "Because your girlfriend wants to be independent" I reply emphasize the word girlfriend.

The light switch to green and I drive off.

"Okay then" he said smiling mischievously.

"Left or right?" I asked as I came upon an intersection.

"Left" he replies.

I was about to turn left when he laughed "Just kidding it's right".

I stuck my middle finger up after turning right he chuckles.

"Guess what day is tomorrow?" he asked as he took out his laptop.

"July 26,  why?" I asked confused.

I glance at him then back at the road he looks at me as if am brainless "Doesn't July 26 rings a bell" he asked.

Oh shit

"My birthday is tomorrow!" I exclaimed.

I totally forgot

"Yes Emily Hailey Robinson tomorrow is your 24th birthday" he stated.

"Wait how did you know? I don't remember telling you" I said.

Damn! I don't even know when is my man's birthday

"Don't worry I have my ways" he said sending me a wink.

"When is yours?" I asked feeling slightly ashamed.

Really I don't know much about him.

"August 3" he replies "I can't believe you don't know your boyfriend's birthday" he said fake hurt.

I roll my eyes "You didn't tell me".

"You should have done your research," he said.

I roll my eyes again "Or maybe you should have just told me" I suggested.

Nathan has been stuck on his laptop and I was becoming very curious.

"What are you doing?" I asked.

"Just some work stuff" he replies.

I nodded "Okay".

Have been driving for about half an hour.

Like he notices my tiredness he said " Pull over I will take it from here".

After I pull over we switch sides, I don't know when but I fell asleep.

"Baby wake up" I heard a voice said gently shaking me.

I snuggle up in the warm seat drifting back to sleep.

"Mummy!" I heard a terrifying scream I bolted up I nearly have a heart attack as I stare at the house burning wildly with flame.

Nathan was nowhere to be found I storm out of the car running towards the burning house as I heard the screams again coming from Ally inside the house.

I tried to tried to open the front door but it was locked.

"Ally! Grandma! Open the door!" I shouted banging on the door as tears roll down my cheek.

Please be safe

"Ally!!" I shouted again when I heard no answer.

I run to the back door which was wide open.

"Ally! Grandma!" I yelled trying to make my way around in the smoke. I could hardly see a thing and the heat was literally melting my skin.

I run upstairs to Ally's room "Ally!" I called out she wasn't inside I check the bathroom she wasn't there either.

Where are they!

The fire was getting worst I couldn't go back downstairs else I would burn to ash.

"Mommy!!!" I heard Ally cried in terror and pain.

I couldn't see anything downstairs only fire and smoke. She emerges out of the fire crawling up the stairs her body was burned and her entire skin was gone she was barely recognizable.

I rush towards her she gave up crawling and lay on the stairs lifeless.

Before I could touch her someone grab me from behind and slam me to the wall.

"Miss me" Jack said laughing evilly.

"Why!" I cried.

"Why what Riley? Why I shot granny or why I shot Nathan or why I let Ally burns to death which one?" he asked.

I spit in his face and use all my strength I have left in me I push him down the stairs into the fire.

I rush to my lifeless baby and hug her crying my heart out.

Why!

Why!

Why!

"Please don't die! Please don't die!" I cried hopelessly.
