I loved the way his hand felt wrapped around my throat. Even though he hadn't been rough like he usually was, there was a connection between us and I couldn't deny it. "Something real? What's considered real to you?"
Moving closer, he got right in my face. Now this, this is the Jared that I'm used to. He made sure that he was so close to my face I could feel his breath against my lips as he spoke. "Last night, that was real. Come on Cas, you know what I mean. I'm just tired of the same old shit." He turned and walked away. Leaning against the countertop he folded his arms and stared at me. "Aren't you sick of coming here only to be treated like an object? Last night was something different. It was real, something I hadn't done in a long time."
"You don't treat me like an object." I hated the way he made it sound, so uncaring, like it was a bad thing or something. The soft kisses and gentle touches made me look at him in a whole different way, yes, but what we had wasn't a bad thing.
"Stop." He moved closer. "Don't do that Cas. You know damn well that things changed between us last night." I could see the emotion in his face as he spoke to me. "Even if we agreed to go back to the way things were, I would always want more." When he backed away, I hopped up on the counter top.
"We don't even know anything about each other. How do you know that you want to be in relationship with me?" It was a valid question. I was genuinely curious to see what he came up with.
He moved with lightening speed back in front of me. Flinching really fast, I was unable to stop him from grabbing both of my hands and pulling them behind my back. When I expected him to be rough, he was gentle. He kissed me softly while sucking my bottom lip between his. "I know more about you than you think I do, Cassandra."
"Nobody calls me that." I scoffed at him.
Again cocking his head to the side, he laughed. "Except your parents. I know a lot, actually. I know you're enjoying this right now." He yanked on my hands behind my back.
"Yeah, well, I think that you are spoiled and used to getting your way." It's so funny how fast his demeanor would change. My words weren't the ones he expected to hear and it was making him angry.
Staring down at me, he smiled. "I know what you're trying to do."
