"See you later Konoha!" Naruto and I chorused, happy that we would miss our birthdays, more specifically the 'fox hunt'
Team 7 [And Tazuna] looked at us strangely as we waved good-bye to the village and began walking away before anybody had a chance to talk over the mission.
Sasuke walked up to us calmly and asked, "Why so happy so leave Konoha?" Sakura decided to run up to Sasuke and squealed,
"Probably because they're so disrespectful that they won't even honor the shinobi that died on October 10 and won't even celebrate the annual fox hunt!" Kakashi, Sasuke, and Tazuna looked confused, and turned towards us, wanting an explanation. Sakura decided to shed more light on the fox hunt and said,
"You see, on October 10, the day the 9 tailed fox attacked the village,the villagers and ninja go out and hunt down a fox and a wolf! Though, they call it the fox hunt because it was easier to say than fox and wolf hunt." Naruto flinched, while I just looked down, nudging Naruto forward so that we could try to get away from the conversation.
"Naruto, Akuma, what makes you so happy that you can miss the fox hunt, it has nothing to do with you guys." Sasuke asked, walking up to us once again.
Kakashi's eyes widened in realization and walking up next to us and growled, "You are the fox and the wolf, aren't you..?" Naruto and Akuma's eyes changed from stotic to fearful as Kakashi set his hands on their shoulders darkly.
"Y-yeah..." We mumbled in sync, looking away while trying to pull out of his grip, as he was holding onto newer cuts.
Tazuna looked at us with pity. Sasuke looked at us with sadness, and Sakura looked fairly normal, not feeling guilty in the slightest, making Sasuke and Kakashi fume.
"Sakura, why do you look... satisfied?" asked Kakashi, looking towards Sakura with a dark aura.
Sakura, being the idiot she is said, "They deserve it, they did kill a bunch of people." Kakashi tapped his kunai pouch, hoping Sakura would get the hint.
"Plus, what does it matter if they do die? They'd probably be doing us more good in hell than here." Sakura scoffed, digging herself a deeper grave.
"That's enough Sakura, we have to continue" Kakashi said, gritting his teeth, trying not to attack the 'kunoichi' in front of him.
We continued walking in a awkward silence, the only thing that could be heard was Tazuna gulping his sake and me and Naruto's constant shuffling.
I looked around at the trees, beginning to sense two familiar chakra signatures, causing me to nudge Kakashi and gesture towards the chakra-made puddle, knowing that Naruto had already noticed, due to his guarded posture.
Slowly but surely, Kakashi, Naruto, and I shuffled into our battle stance, a katana hanging by Naruto's side, a large black sword hanging limply by me, and Kakashi holding onto his kunai pouch, hidden senbon needles already in his hand.
"Inu, Kitsune, the enemy ninja is about 50 meters away, coming from the west." I notified them, shifting my position slightly as I got a better understanding at where they are.
"Okami, Kitsune, I'll take behind Tazuna." Kakashi said, jumping behind Tazuna in a fighting position.
"Kitsune, I'll take the front." I added, jumping in front of Tazuna wwith my sword held in front of me in a powerful stance.
"That leaved me with the side." Naruto sighed, holding up his katana as he took his place next to the drunkard.
"What are you guys doing?" Sasuke asked, pulling out a kunai of his own.
