An arrow came out from behind some trees and hit the man in the leg. I couldn't help but smile when he cried out in pain. He deserves it. Tyler fell to the ground and the coyote started to circle him.

Slowly, I got up, carefully holding Mia. She had gotten even more pale, and I felt her forehead. I drew back my hand immediately. She was burning hot.

"Don't worry. We're safe," I whispered to my cousin. We were actually far from safe, but I didn't want Mia to know that.

I started to back up, heading for the lake. Surely Scott and his pack could take care of him. Especially if he has a arrow in his leg. That's were I was wrong. Tyler smiled, and pulled the arrow out of his leg.

"Nice try, but you can't take me down that easily," He shouted. One of the werewolves that looked like Issac jumped at Tyler.

I felt a hand on my shoulder, and turned around quickly. Allison was there and she put a finger to her lips.

I pretended to be shocked. "Allison? What are you doing here?"

"No time to explain. See that clearing over there with that lake?"

I nodded. That lake was Mia's only chance of survival right now.

"Stiles and Lydia are in his Jeep over there. You have to get there quick. They'll take your friend to the hospital, okay?" She asked

"Okay," I uttered. Mia couldn't go to a hospital. They would most like put water on her cuts, and then she would transform in front of a bunch of doctors, who would Then most likely do experiments on her.

Allison glanced back at the pack, and saw that Tyler's back was turned. "Let's go."

I started running alongside Allison, trying to keep Mia comfortable in my arms. I could feel my ankle getting worse as I ran. My pace started to slow down as we reached the lake, but I didn't see Stiles Jeep anywhere.

  "Um... Allison?"

"Where are they?" She asked herself.

All of a sudden, Scott came flying into the clearing, and landed on his back. When he got back up again he was no longer in his werewolf form. Issac, Liam, and who I was assuming was Malia quickly ran to his side.

"Oh my God! Scott, are you okay?" Liam asked, changing back to human, as did Issac and Malia. When I saw Malia change back, I turned around knowing she would be naked.

Allison handed her a bag, and once I was sure she had on clothes I turned back around.

  "Where's Tyler?" I questioned them.

  "Who?" Scott asked.

I rolled my eyes. "The man that you all just attacked."

His eyes widened, "Katy, I know you're probably confused, but I swear we can explain what just happened."

He never got the chance, a blue Jeep came out of the woods, and stopped a few yards away. Lydia and Stiles got out and jogged over to us.

"Okay, so basically we knocked out the guy. It won't last long, so we have to get out of here." Malia quickly explained.

"Okay, is Kira still at Derek's?" Lydia asked.

"Yeah, we sent her a text not that long ago what we were doing," Issac said.

I looked around, trying to find away to get away without the pack becoming suspicious. No. That was impossible now. They had seen me running in the woods, carrying the girl that they were trying to find and rescue. I remembered how they were talking about seeing my eyes earlier. They were going to find out eventually, with them being werewolves and all. Before I could say something though, a knife came out of nowhere, and pierced my leg. I screamed and fell down, dragging Mia with me.

  "Katy!" Stiles yelled.

He was by my side in seconds.

  "Stiles, take her," I said.

  "What?"

"Take her! Tyler can't get a hold of her again or he'll kill her without any hesitation."

"Yes, Stiles. Take her. Leave your friend here to die," Tyler said, emerging from the trees.

I put Mia in Stiles arms. "He won't kill me. He needs me. I don't know for what, but he does. Tyler would never risk killing somebody he needs."

Then, Lydia knelt by me. "Katy, I haven't known you long at all, but I'm not leaving you with that psychopath."

I looked at her gratefully, and then saw Tyler was getting closer and closer.

"Allison, get Katy and, sorry, what's the girls name?" Scott asked.

  "Mia," came my immediate answer.

"Okay then. Allison, get Katy and Mia to Stiles Jeep. Then you all have to get to the hospital. Issac, Liam, Malia, and I will hold Tyler off."

"I can't let you do that. He's dangerous." Mia whispered.

"Me neither. Stiles, get Mia to my house. Lydia and Allison know where it is. I'm staying." I told them.

Malia looked at me worriedly, "Katy, I hardly think you're in any condition to fight."

I glared at her, "I can do it." I felt in my back pocket, and pulled out the knife I had picked up earlier. Now Tyler was only a yard away. "Stiles, go!"

Allison, Lydia, and Stiles took off running, Mia in his arms. However, they didn't make it far. Tyler raised a hand, and the water copied him. He swung his hand in their direction, and the water sent them flying to the ground. I could tell Mia hadn't been hurt that badly by this luckily.

  "What the hell?" Liam muttered

"Oh no," I whispered at the same time.

Scott glanced at me, "Katy... do you know what that was?"

I nodded, unable to make words. Only powerful mermaids and merman could control water like this above land. It was just my luck Tyler happened to be one of those powerful mermen.

  "Run," I said.

  "What, why?"

  "Just run."

We all took off in the direction that Lydia, Allison, Stiles, and Mia had been hit into. Mia was laying next to Stiles so I quickly picked her up, ignoring the way my leg seemed to be screaming at me. Malia tapped my shoulder.

"I'll carry her. You're to weak right now."

  "Thanks."

Once Allison, Lydia, and Stiles were up, I turned around to see where Tyler was. He wasn't that far away, but he seemed to have stopped walking. Instead, he was smirking at me, and was slowly raising his hand. As the water followed his movements, I grew scared. What if he made the water touch me on land? I shook the though out of my head as he sent his hand towards Stiles.

"Stiles! Look out," I screamed, and tried to push him out of the way, but it was to late.

The hand made out of water wrapped around Stiles, and Scott tried to grab him before he would be out of reach. His hand slipped every time he touched Stiles shoe. Tyler was making his way to the lake, and them jumped into it, the hand and Stiles following him. He can't breath underwater.

"Stiles!" Lydia screamed. It wasn't a Banshee scream, but I knew it wouldn't be long before she let out one of those screams as well.

"Allison," I said. She looked at me, and I made up my mind. I have to do this. "Hold my knife."

"Wha—" I took off running towards the water, the only thing going through my mind was how I wasn't going to let Stiles drown.

"Katy! No!" I heard Scott scream behind me.

My leg and ankle felt like they were going to fall off me, but I kept running. I didn't even hesitate while jumping into the water. Looking below me, I saw Tyler dragging Stiles to the bottom of the lake. I swam after them. Stiles hadn't seemed to see me yet, as he was still struggling against Tyler's grip.

I swam faster when I noticed how Stiles eyes seemed to be closing. When I reached them, I hit Tyler with my tail, causing him to release Stiles. He turned to me and his eyes widened, but them he smiled.

He cause the water to push me back, but I managed to resist it. I grabbed Tyler's hair, and slammed him against a rock. I saw blood come out of his head, and knew he was almost dead if not already from that hit. I did it again and again, until I saw his blue tail go limp. Dead. I controlled the water, and sent him to the deepest part of the lake just in case.

I looked around for Stiles, and saw how close he was to the bottom. His eyes were closed, and I could faintly hear a scream from above the water. No. I can still save him.

I swam to him, and pulled on his shirt. Wrapping one of my arms around him, I started to swim to the surface. I tried to listen for a heartbeat as I swam, and finally found it. It was faint. Almost gone. But it was still there. When I broke through the surface, the others had already started to walk away. Mia was struggling in Malias arms screaming, but she wasn't getting anywhere with it. She was still way to weak and sick.

  "Scott!" I shouted.

Everybody stopped walking, and turned to look at us. I could faintly see two other figures run out of the woods, as I swam back towards land, Stiles in my arms.

"Oh my God!" Lydia cried when she saw Stiles unconscious body.

Scott looked at me, "How did you save him?"

I ignored his question when I saw that the two figures were Kira and Derek. When Derek saw me, he smirked.

"You never could stay away from water, could you?" Derek joked.

"Derek, I swear, if you don't shut up I'll make sure you'll never be able to have kids."

Malia carefully set Mia on the ground, then looked at me. "Do you want to get out of the water, or..."

"Take Stiles first. It's hard enough to get back on land without carrying somebody," I told her, and she took Stiles." She looked at me questionably, but then took him from my arms.

  "I can't hear a heartbeat," Scott muttered.

I listened closely before speaking. "I can. It's faint, but there. You know how to perform CPR, right?"

  Scott quickly shook his head.

"Good. No time to waste, you better start now before the water that's in his lungs drowns him."

While Scott began to perform CPR, Kira looked at me. "Do you need help getting out?"

"I can get out just fine. Can you hand me Mia, please?"

Kira picked up who she probably assumed was Mia, and handed her to me.

"Thanks," I said as I dunked Mia and myself underwater. I could faintly hear Kira gasping in shock.

I let go of her, and watched as her cuts and bruises began to heal themselves. Mia seemed to get more energy, but she was still extremely skinny. It would take a while to fix that.

  "Thanks," She said.

"No problem. Now, we should probably head up before we give them a heart attack."

Mia looked at worriedly, "Are you sure you're ready?"

I sighed, "It's now or never."

Together we emerged with water splashing onto land, and Kira screamed while Derek just rolled his eyes, and I could sworn I heard Derek mutter 'Drama Queens'. Stiles had gained conscience, and looked at me like I was some sort of dragon.

"Wha—" he said. "How? You were down there for like, five minutes! How are you still conscious! And how did you manage to save me?"

Mia glanced at me, and I nodded. We both pulled ourselves onto land, and I could feel everybody's eyes on our tails.

  "You're a mermaid?" Liam screamed.

I slapped him in the leg. "Say it louder. I don't think New York heard you."

At the same time Mia snorted, "Really? And here I was thinking that I'm a fairy."

I glared at her, before turning back to the pack. "Anyway, to anwer your question Liam, yes, I am a mermaid. So is Mia and my little brother."

"Actually, James is a merman," Mia said.

  "Mia?"

  "Yeah?"

"Shut up."

In the corner of my eye I could see Derek trying to cover his mouth to prevent him from laughing, and I glared at him.

He just rolled his eyes. "Are you going to be a fish forever?"

I looked at him, "Did you not hear my when I said if you don't shut up I'll make sure you never have kids?"

Mia snickered, "I'm surrounded by idiots."

"I just saved your life young lady."

  "I'm older than you!"

  "Only by a few months!"

The pack watched us argue back and forth, while Derek stood there looking like this was the best form of entertainment he's had in years. After a while, Mia and I stopped bickering, and used our necklaces to transform back human. Everybody was still in minor shock, and I lowered my head.

Mia saw this, and turned to the others, "Okay, I want to make one thing clear, Katy isn't any different than she was when you all thought she was human. She has been a mermaid her whole life, so you can't judge her for this."

I thankfully looked at Mia when Stiles spoke up. "So, are you actually from Myrtle Beach?"

I smiled at him, "No. I'm from a underwater kingdom/city called Atlantis."

  "Oh."

"Wait, so your necklaces help you change back human?" Allison asked.

"Well, we can always change back using our powers, put the necklace is a much faster option. Also, it can help us recognize other mermaids. That's what happened when I met Izzy.

  "Who?" Mia questioned.

"Friend of mine. You'll like her."

  "And you eyes..." Kira started.

"They show I'm of royalty. Normal mermaids can change their eyes to sea green, while ones of the royal family can make them purple."

"You're of royalty!" Liam screamed. God, he has to learn how to keep his voice down.

"Yes, she is actually the princess of Atlantis," Mia told them.

"You didn't really come here because of family trouble, did you?" Scott asked.

I gave him a sad smile. "Actually, I did. Just not in the way you would think."

They all looked at me, waiting for me to go into farther detail, but I honestly didn't want to have to explain the real reason I came here yet. Derek knew, and for now that was enough.

"Listen, I'm actually pretty tired right now, and though Mia probably doesn't feel it, she is also pretty tired."

"I can give you a ride home if you want," Stiles offered.

  "No, it's fine."

Mia looked at me like I was crazy. "Speak for yourself! I'm not walking all the way to the safe house."

"We won't have to!" When everybody looked at me, I sighed. "There is a Moon Pool in my house that connects to this lake. We can just get there by swimming."

"That's freaking awesome!" Stiles said, and I blushed. Mia smirked at me when she saw this, and I kicked her in the foot, causing her to fall back into the water.

She emerged a few seconds later, "Race you!" She then went back under, probably looking for the entrance.

"Well, I better go. Um... how about we get together tomorrow and I'll try and explain everything some more."

  "Sounds good," they all said.

"You can come to my house," Scott told me.

I nodded, then jumped back in water.

'So she's a mermaid...' I heard Lydia question.

'More like a half fish with a slightly bigger brain.' Came Derek's response. I'll get him later for that.
