"i can't believe we're actually doing this! i must be out of my mind when i agreed to ditching dinner" mikey snapped, groaning loudly as he caught his jacket on a branch.

i snorted, "mom was just about to talk about your relationships with grandma. i don't think she'd like to know you're dating a tattooed dwarf with the attitude of a gremlin"

"petey's not a dwarf! and he certainly doesn't have the attitude of a gremlin" my blond haired brother retorted, landing on the ground with a soft thud.

"he got mad at me for accidentally using his mug to pour myself some tea, mikes" i implied, earning a defensive roll of the eyes from him.

we continued to walk in silence for a few minutes, the only sound heard being the crunching of snow beneath our feet.

"you really wanna see him, huh?" mikey spoke softly,  shoving his hands carelessly in the pocket of his jeans.

"there's not a single thing in the world i wouldn't do to see him smile again. he doesn't know how special he is, and i want to show him" i replied, the sight of my cold breath dancing around my lips.

"i can tell. you dragged that electric guitar all the way down that tree just for frank. now that's true love, my friend" the blond chuckled, and i giggled, my eyes lighting up at the psychiatric ward in the distance.

"there it is!" i yelled, beginning to sprint to the small institution with frankie's present in hand. happiness filled up my lungs to the point where i couldn't breathe, but it was probably my shortness of breath that made me pant in pain. i continued to run, though, with mikey trailing behind me and shouting to stop.

i wasn't listening.

i just wanted to see my boy.
