Upon leaving the changing area, the five of you walk through the prison carrying the belongings they gave you for your cell. To your dismay, the prisoners know who you and Gamora are. They recognize you as children of Thanos, so as you walk by, they yell insults and hurdle objects to try and hurt you. Gamora remains strong but you want to break down. Your eyes swell up a bit and you hold back from crying, it being almost impossible to act as brave as Gamora. All you ever wanted was to be seen for who you really are: a Terran who was kind and raised on Earth. You aren't an assassin. You aren't a killer. Most importantly, you aren't a child of Thanos.

However, Gamora has a much bigger reputation than yours, due to the many missions she has completed successfully for Ronan. You never got the chance to work for him before your escape. Additionally, you never got to properly work for Thanos either because although you trained well, you escaped before given the chance. That didn't stop the prisoners from disliking you, though, and the vicious violence was equal to the treatment of Gamora.

Their harassment towards the two of you only amuses Rocket. "It's like I said, they've got a rep. A lot of prisoners have lost their families to Ronan and his goons. Gamora will last a day, tops. The other broad just might make it, but no guarantees."

His words concern Peter, who shudders at the thought of these prisoners harming you. "The guards will protect them, right?" He questions.

Rocket shrugs. "They're here to stop us from getting out. They don't care what we do to each other inside," he murmurs. His words haunt you. There are several prisoners in here that come in all shapes and sizes, some look similar to humans and others have horrifying alien faces. They're scary people who want to kill you and Gamora in this prison. This is no place for you to die.

"Whatever nightmares the future holds are dreams compared to what's behind me," Gamora spits, still keeping her bold demeanor. You know she is referring to Thanos's treatment of her and Nebula upon your escape. After you left, he was furious, and he took it out on the girls by making them train by fighting each other or completing missions where they were forced to kill innocent people.

"Gamora..." you whisper, letting her name trail off. You reach out to comfort her, but your hand is grabbed by a large, animal-like man. You don't even know what the hell it is but its face is disgusting and the size of him sends shivers down your spine. What does he want with you?

He pulls you up close to him and your face goes pale. "Check out the new meat," he announces, running one of his gigantic fingers against your cheek. "I'm gonna slather you up in Guanavian jelly and go to town-"

"Hey!" Peter screams, cutting the guy off. "Put her down right now or so help me god I will hit you so hard you end up in the middle of next week." The giant man throws you down abruptly and you slam into the hard ground. He stomps over to Peter now and is about to hiss something at him, but Groot extends the roots of his arm and shoves them up the prisoner's nose, lifting him off of the floor.

He squirms rapidly, but he is unable to remove himself from Groot's hold. Peter helps you off the ground and the two of you stand behind Rocket, who makes an announcement to the whole room. "Let's make something clear," he bellows. "This one is our booty! You wanna get him, you go through us!" He points to Groot who is still holding up the creature. "Or, more accurately, we go through you."

Groot places the prisoner back down and he walks beside Rocket. Peter confidently strides behind the two of them. "I'm with them," he acknowledges. Then he puts an arm around your shoulder. "And so is she." You blush at coming into contact with him, especially after the thoughts you were having about him only moments ago in the showers. Yet, you're just glad he wants to protect you.
