‭ CHAPTER TWO

‭ How do you feel about being a Fiance' and being tied down with a ring?" She smiled, "You're being a little presumptious, aren't you?" "Yep. Does that mean no." "No." "So you're saying you like rings and Fiance's and all that marriage stuff?" She said, "Yes." He kissed her solidly and said, "That's more like it." "I'm going to have to chew a lot of gum from the gumball machines to find you just the right ring." She said, "Nothing too fancy now, we've got to buy a marriage license, you know." He grinned," We're gonna' be married a hundred years with your attitude. I've got to get home now before I want to peek at your lingerie." She said, "Sounds like fun." He rose and went to her front door, she hugged him and they kissed goodbye. He said, "Not bad for our first day together, is it?" She grinned, "I loved it. Will I see you tomorrow?"

‭ He said, "You want breakfast in bed? I'm your man. Just kidding, but would you like to have breakfast with me at Morty's? I could pick you up and we could spend the day together, or you could meet me there. Your choice." She said, "Pick me up at eight, it's Saturday, I may be half asleep. And call me when you get home. I want to hear your voice the last thing of the day." He chuckled, "Wow, now THAT'S romantic.

‭I've got to remember that for my stories. I'm your man. Call you later, baby." She gave him one last kiss and he went out the door, the last thing he saw was her smiling at him. He loaded up in his car and went home. He could still smell the slight fragrance of Quanida from her visit to his place. He got ready for bed, jumped in the sack and dialed her number.

‭ Her number was busy and he wondered if her friend Nicole and her were having 'that conversation' about him proposing a proposal of marriage to her. Nicole would probably think she was crazy. He chuckled and started watching a documentary about the design of the DC-3 , 'The Plane That Changed The World.'

‭His phone rang and he heard her sexy voice, "You were supposed to call me."

‭"Mom, is that you?"

‭She said, "Knock it off, the wedding is off."

‭ "Carlene, you know you can't do without me. I tried to call you but you and Nicole were gossiping about me."

‭She queried, "How did you know that?"

‭ "Lucky guess."

‭She said, "It may not be a good thing to be married to a romantic novelist. You read me like a laundry list."

‭ "Yeah, but think how interesting the nights are going to be."

"Now cut that out, I'm steaming again."

‭ "I can tell life with you is going to be hot. You are a high temperature girl."

‭"I never was before. It's all your fault."

‭"Glad to be of service, Ma'am. So what did you tell Nicole, did you tell her about us getting out of control and slipping into bed and you opened your portals and I..."

‭She said, "I almost wish we had. I'm really hot now, maybe it wasn't a good idea for you to call. I feel really vulnerable. He said, "Ok, just cool down and tell me what you and Nicole discussed, Did she think you were crazy?" She chuckled, "She implied it. But she noticed how happy I sounded even across the phone. I told her I was in love with you, and she believed me. I told her your theory about our spirits communicating with each other and that's why we are falling in love so fast. She actually thought there was merit in that. It does explain how you and I were 'stalking' each other for months and finally got together over a flat tire." He said, "The luckiest flat tire I ever had to change. And if I had been like other guys, I could have talked you into making love." She said, "But you respected yourself and me and you're going to get to make love to me for the rest of your life.'
