6 - Boys and Toys

"Ah, don't remind me about the hot pot...I'm gonna start drooling. Orgasms for the mouth " he stated, poking fun at Lynx.

Lynx turned rosy again and had to look away. "That was supposed to be an inner monologue but somehow became verbal." She muttered embrasured. "You'll see though!" Looking around Lynx then shrugged and yelled. "Simon says, come eat some cookies!!"

Rolling her eyes, Ennevin turned back to the oven and pulled out three trays of cookies, setting them to cool. She riffled through various cupboards until she found plates and piled ten cookies on one of them. "I'm gonna go see if I can find Simon," she said. "I can faintly hear whistling from outside, so I'll use these as bait. Be right back."

Percy chuckled and nudged her teasingly before sitting down "So what do you want to do? Career wise?" He asked curiously

Eventually, she found her way to the deck and saw Simon sitting on a chair, looking out at the mountains. "Hey, I made cookies. Want a few? They're choc chip."

Simon heard his name called from outside and stood up stretched and saw ennevin "oh sure" he said smiling as he walks into the kitchen looking at them "they smell good" he said looking at ennevin

"Honestly... I loved what I did, I had an amazing team. We worried so well together, on missions we were always in sync. It didn't matter if it was the eight of us, four of us, or just Vin and I." She said with a shrug. "Before we were broke and driven mad, well some of us, okay two of us really, but regardless, I'd still want it back. Not just cause of the kick-ass power armor and fancy toys.. but to have a family such as that again." Lynx answers looking Percy in the eye so he could feel the full amount of heart and spirit she put into her words of longing.

"Fresh out of the oven," she announced. "Want milk or something with them?" She put the plate down on the rail. "I also wanted to ask, are you okay? You kinda disappeared for a while there, you looked a bit pale."

"Think there's any chance of having that? A new team?" He asked. He smiled slightly seeing the passion she seemed to have for it. He could relate somewhat. Reliving the glory days. His favorite part about his job was his hanging with his partner. A brother of sorts. That was part of the reason he had been searching for roommates
"Yeah I'm fine just haven't seen a shot like that since i worked with some people in the Midwest and Asia," he said picking up a cookie and taking a bite enjoying it "Very good," he said

"I'm not sure.. as of today you're the only other person we know with a similar background to our own. Also, Simon sharing similar interests. Carolina shit the whole thing down so we can't go back to the island.. can't resume that duty. I don't believe we are listed in the military as personnel.. but even then they wouldn't accept us because of physical reasons. We were enhanced to wear those suits, so we'd likely be depicted as weapons of mass distraction... I mean it's not wrong, we can cause a lot of destruction if that's the goal."

Ennevin snagged one and munched on it thoughtfully. "So you were just caught off guard? And I'm gonna have to disappoint you a bit, I've never been to either of those areas."

"Well people over there weren't the nicest so I got a little worried nice to know you aren't one of them," he said not hearing Percy's conversation and leans against the counter eating another cookie

Percy pulled a chair and sat next to her " can I be honest with you for a second?" He asked as he glanced down at the ground " well more honest I guess

Hopping up on the rail, Ennevin swings her legs back and forth lightly. "We were deployed somewhere else entirely. Believe it or not, I'd say it was more dangerous than many other battlegrounds." Looking at Simon, she stood up and started pacing back and forth on top of the railing, balancing over the drop into nothing. "Lynx and I were the only two in our group that came out of it sane, and she still has her bad days." A wind kicked up, blowing her hair. "And you'd never be able to find where we were stationed on any map
