All 6 of us were running towards our cars all parked in a row, besides Jordan since she couldn't drive yet. Kai turned around dead in his tracks and said, "Allison we need to use your car since it's the biggest and the only one that can fit all of us."

Allison was the richest one out of all of us and has a pure white Escalade that can fit us in it with no problem. Allison's face drained of color and shouted, "Absolutely not, I'm not letting some stranger come into my precious baby!" glaring at Elsie with jealousy in her eyes because of Nolan's thoughts for Elsie and not her. Nolan's eyes filled with rage and told Allison, "Listen, you either let us in the damn car or we will leave you behind!"

We all stood in shock when Allison reluctantly opened the door and got into the drivers side door with tears in her angry eyes. She looked at us when she finally said, "Well if we want to get out of here, we have to go now." She sounded hurt, but tried not to let it show.

I got into the passengers side, Kai and Jordan got into the two seats in the middle while Nolan and Elsie sat in the back three seats with one separating them. Allison looked in the rear view mirror and anger once again took over her body while watching Nolan and Elsie sit so close.

We were waiting for the car to start when Allison turned around and looked at Kai with apologetic eyes, "I forgot the keys in Physics." We all looked at each other in shock and Jordan started crying again, Elsie comforted her while Kai and Nolan said they would go get them quickly. I looked at Kai and and told him, "You can't go back in there, what if you get attacked or the disease spreads to you and Nolan before you can get them."

He look at me with the most loving eyes that I loved so much, "If I don't get them then we will be stuck here and we will possibly be killed, Nolan and I will be back in five minutes, lock the doors and don't let anyone but us in. I love you."

They ran towards the empty school with determination and adrenaline rushing over them. Jordan looked up at Allison with scared eyes, I guess Allison had enough when she screamed, "STOP BEING A COWARD AND GROW UP, WE ALL ARE GOING THROUGH THE SAME THING AND WE AREN'T SITTING HERE CRYING ABOUT IT!" Elsie shot back in her seat, while Jordan dried up her tears fast and I looked at Jordan with apology in my eyes and it became quiet.

3 minutes later

We suddenly heard a loud thud on the driver's side window and Allison suddenly jumped up. It was the guys from Physics who were eyeing Allison. They were yelling at her calling her every name in the book. I heard Jordan burst into tears again. Elsie ducked into the floor board hiding, and me and Allison didn't know what to do. The guys started dropping and blood splattered on the ground when Nolan and Kai were back with the keys opening the door. Kai said with a demanding voice, "Drive."

We were driving along the highway when we saw people starting to drop to the ground, dead. Elsie screamed in fright, Nolan quickly grabbed her hand to comfort her. Allison huffed when she saw Nolan holding her hand, and gripped the steering wheel harder. I shot Allison a glanced when she mouthed to me, "I hate her." I pretended I didn't know what she said and turned to Kai, I reached for his hand and he grabbed it and kissed it softly.

He made an announcement to all of us, "Listen up, people are starting to die, we need to get out of the city and find shelter tonight so we can rest and find food and water tomorrow." We all nodded our heads in agreement when Jordan quickly fell asleep. Allison whispered, "Finally..." Kai shot her an angry look when she rolled her eyes and looked back at the road.

1 hour later

We were all awoken at the sound of gravel under the tires leading to a house. Kai and Allison were the only ones awake when we all awoke in confusion. Kai told everyone, "We found a house with no cars and the lights are out, so I think it is abandoned. We are staying here for the night since we are almost out of gas."

I saw Nolan still holding Elsie's hand while she blushed when he looked at her with sparkling eyes. Allison once again was rolling her eyes at the fact that Nolan didn't want her.

We piled inside when we suddenly heard crying in the corner of the small living room. A girl with tanned skin was sitting in the corner, weeping. She looked up and suddenly stood up coming towards us with a knife in her hand. Nolan and Kai rushes towards her, knocking it our of her hand. She yelled, "GET OUT OF MY HOUSE!"

Jordan replied with a shaky voice, "W-we j-just need sh-shelter for the night, please." The girl looked at Allison and I and said, "aren't you those stuck up cheerleaders from North Shore High School?" Me and Allison looked at each other then back at her when Allison took a step forward and said, "And aren't you that girl who doesn't know not to mess with me?" The girl smiled sarcastically and walked up to her and whispered, "Darling, say that again and I'll prove to you that you don't want to mess with me." Allison was taken aback by her choice of words.

After a few moment of silence, the girl looked at us and said, "The only way I will let you stay here for the night is if you let me come along with you." We all were contemplating when I heard Elsie say, "Deal." I smiled at her confidence and Allison shot her a glare with daggers in her eyes.

We all looked at her with hopeful eyes when I asked, "Well if we are going to be surviving together, we need to know your name." She looked at me with no emotion and said,

"My name is Zara."
