Trust me

Lila's POV

Ricky snaps his fingers and four guards come to take our bags of clothes. He orders them to take them to our rooms and we look at him confused.

"We have our own rooms already? How do you have room for all of us?" Zara asks suspiciously.

Ricky chuckles, "Well, the guards have their own living quarters down by the pond, that's where you'll be staying Zara. Anyone in the medical field including doctors stay in the laboratory with bedrooms added above the facility is over there." He points in the direction of a big blue warehouse. "That's where Charlie and Mary-Anne will be staying."

Charlie turns to us and says, "Well everyone, I guess that's where I'll be staying, I'll see you all soon." Ricky announces that dinner will be in 2 hours and we will see each other then.

"What about us?" Allison asks.

"Well darling, the rest of you will be staying in the main building. It has a total of thirteen bedrooms. That's where the meal hall is, along with surveillance video monitors. I think that's where Nolan will be stationed."

Nolan looks surprised and asks, "Sir, I don't really know anything about that sort of thing, can't I be a guard or something?" Rick laughs and says, "Well all guards have to start at the bottom of the ranks before they can be at the top of the ranks. So, before you can stay in the guard's quarters, you have to be under supervision."

He nods his head in understanding and is taken with Elsie to their room.

"Okay, so you two ladies will stay in the same room, it has to twin size beds, and it should have enough room for the both of you." He points at Allison and Jordan and they nod with a polite smile while following a guard who's holding their belongings.

"And the two of you, you will be staying across the hall from Nolan and Elsie, that's one level above where Allison and your sister is staying." We nod and are taken by a young guy to our room.

Kai asks him, "So, how did you get here?" The guy turns around with a stern look and says, "Ricky is my father, I was dragged here after my mother got infected. Trust me. This is not a place you want to be."

Me and Kai exchange fearful glances and are brought into a gorgeous bedroom with a king sized bed, a vanity, a closet with clothes stocked in both of our sizes, and a chest of drawers.

I'm astonished at the fact that we get this room to ourselves without even knowing Ricky.

I turn to ask the guard, "How is there clothes with our sizes in the closet when we just arrived?" He smirks, "I told you.  You shouldn't have come here." And with that he closes the door, leaving me and Kai standing there with our own thoughts.

Kai whispers, "Lila, I don't think this is a good idea, maybe we shouldn't have come." I sigh and say, "Well you tell me what's better, a tiny camper with 7 of us living in it, struggling to find food for everyone and our baby, or acres and acres of agriculture and beautiful facilities that we have just been offered? I get that this is sketchy, but think of our child."

With that, he pull me into a hug and we stay there for what feels like forever. I then notice a piece of paper hanging on the door.

Releasing from the hug, I walk over to the paper and read it out loud,

M-F
7:00am-Breakfast in the Meal Hall
8:00am-report to training/designated jobs
12:00pm-Lunch in the Meal Hall
1:00pm-updates on cure/air deficiency and introduction to any new members
2:00pm-report back to training/designated jobs
6:30pm-Dinner in Meal Hall
7:30pm-Social time (Allowed to go anywhere on the property.)
8:30pm-Showers/relaxation time
9:30pm-lights in all facilities turned off (Except Surveillance)

Weekends
8:00am-Breakfast in Meal Hall
9:00am to 12pm-Free time
12:15pm-Lunch in Meal Hall
1:00pm-updates on cure/Air deficiency and meeting new members
2:00pm to 6:30pm-Free time
6:45pm-Dinner in Meal Hall
7:45pm-Showers/Relaxation time
10:00pm-lights in all facilities turned off"

I look up at Kai who has a deep look on his face.

"Kai, what's wrong babe?" He takes the paper and says, "They know where we are at all times, they control everything."

I get why he's acting so suspicious, it is strange, but I can't help to wonder what it's like to be out in the danger of the world again.

I kiss him lightly and whisper, "Lets take this one day at a time babe." He nods and we look at the envelope attached to the schedule.
The envelope reads,

'To Kai Davis and Lila Fields'
Designated Jobs
Kai Davis-Tracker (Job entails to go look for missing or wounded people outside the facility for treatment)
Lila Fields-Facility therapist (Job entails to help anyone on the facility find closure with loss of loved ones and/or cope with the infection itself.)

After reading, we both look up at each other and I say, "Darling, you are going to help so many people, this is a good thing." He smiles and kisses me, "Your going to help a lot of people too."

"Now let's get dressed for dinner, I can't go looking like this."
