Planet Earth;

          𝐓he metal booms underneath her feet, straight past the noise of frustrated underage criminals praying for an explanation.

An explanation for why they're being dragged into a gasoline-fragranced chamber and strapped like they're nothing but a failure to the human existence.

The guard tightens the grip on her wrists while moving her across the floor. She's forced into one of the many red seats, watching as he tightens the straps around her abdomen.

She's confident he intends to crush her insides; the straps will surely leave a bruise or two.

Her cheeks are still sticky from the tears, and the constant lump feels tight in her throat.

"Now, you're gonna be a good girl and do as I say," he hurriedly whispers. The girl directs her foresty green eyes to the rough fabric of her black trousers. "The consequences of exiting after I've retreated are very much clear to you, miss Everhart. Save us both the trouble."

Her reddened eyes dart between his dark ones, desperation striking her features. However, she gives him a sharp nod; her awareness of the rules being as clear as the stars painting her bedroom window.

He continues to keep his voice low, hovering just above a whisper. "Shumway wants you dead and out of his way. Right now, I'm only fulfilling one of those claims."

A moment of unsettling staring arises. She takes it as an opportunity to acknowledge his terribly pale skin, a contrast to his rust-colored eyes staring down with a scowl. His sleeked-back hair is a dying shade of red, the strands drowning in a glossy pomade.

"I'm doing you a favor. Don't make me regret that."

Then, the man turns his back to her and strides out of the dropship. As though he hadn't just committed the crime of his lifetime.

Her eyes cram shut, chest heaving up and down as she tries to control the irregular breathing.

"What's going on? What are they doing to us?"

After allowing her eyes to finally flutter open, her gaze lands upon a younger brunette a few seats from hers.

"We're being sent to Earth," a guy briefly announces before shifting his attention back to the person next to him.

Clove peeks over at the girl once again, teeth chewing forcefully on her bottom lip in anxiousness. Her instincts tell her to reassure the young girl, but she finds herself barely able to comfort herself. She's terrified. Shaken. The traumas of the past few days nearly haunting her to tears.
