New album, new year, new perspective on life for Alex.

"They made it far too easy to believe

That true romance can be achieved

these days

And even if somehow they could have

shown you the place you wanted

Well I'm sure you could have made it that bit

better on your own

You are the only ones who know."

"Alex, man, when are you going to stop writing depressing songs?"

"Don't even comment Jamie, you know there're catchy." Alex smirked.

That song only had meaning for him and Matt's friend, 'Ar'. They were the only two who knew how it felt like to be hopeless. And alone.

"Fine, yeah, whatever you win."

"You know it, I always do." Alex said cheekily, arching his eyebrows.

"Ugh, stop flirting with me Alex, I have a girlfriend."

"No you don't, that's just an excuse to ditch us every Friday night."

"You don't understand." Jamie groaned.

"No I don't." Alex said blankly and Jamie could tell the conversation was over, Alex slipped into one of his moods again before strumming on his guitar.

He needed to contact Matt's friend somewhere, reach her. Ask her how she dealt with IT, because he needed to find Arabella with no last name, Arabella on the galaxy's edge.

He regretted it very moment, not running after her, not catching her.

"Hey Jamie where's Matt?" Jamie looked up, surprised that Alex started talking again, he usually never did but less than normal.

"Oh uh, I think he's with Arielle."

"Who's Arielle?"

"Don't you ever listen Alex?"

"Yes to stuff that's important." Alex stated, rolling his eyes.

"Wow someone's sassy today." Jamie muttered before continuing so Alex could hear. "Well this is sure as hell important, Arielle's his other half, he found her." Jamie's voice raised.

"Oh huh, we'll tell me when he gets back." Alex thought it over, shoving his hands in his pocket as he walked away.

"Sure thing." Jamie responded, casually.

Alex flipped open his phone that had started vibrating, "Alex, what's up mate?"

"I need to meet your friend, Ar."

Alex was greeted with silence on the other end, he needed to see her to know her, Matt couldn't say no.  He needed this as much as Alex did.

"Listen I don't think that's such a good idea Alex, she doesn't really need to be reminded of anything. Sorry, I really-"

"Ugh!" Alex threw his phone against the wall, sliding down with his back against it.

"I NEED HER!" He screamed, running his hands through his hair wildly till it hurt.

Why didn't anyone understand him?

1) clearing up any confusion that you may have, 'Ar' is pronounced 'air'
