It was A week into Ramadan now.

A week after Sheikh and Saif's death.

A week after his Mother's death.

A week after the slap.

Week after Week.

Karim slumped onto the dining room chair. Still in shock.

He visited his mother and father's graves yesterday. He'd promised that he would become a better Muslim.

Since that day, Karim started changing. He would pray, fast, learn and currently he was preparing himself for his Lecture on Faith- something which he could relate to.

He promised his friend's that he would never give up and that he would take care of Sheikh's little brother.

Once Hakeem found out, he got into a rage- but sooner or later, Hakeem forgave Karim. Hakeem said it was Ramadan, and he didn't want it to go badly.

Obviously he as well was in shock.

Karim put his head in his hands. He whispered Dua's* and small Ayahs* and slowly his heart rate slowed to a perfect beat- it was rhythmic, and it lulled Karim to sleep. Quickly, he slapped his cheek, to wake him up- he had to prepare. The lecture was today after Maghrib* prayer.

Karim got up, he couldn't take the smell of food that Hakeem was preparing.

Faith- the kitten, both brothers found out the gender- purred, notifying them that she'd wanted to sleep. Karim chuckled, filled het bowl up and placed it in front of her. He watched as she licked the milk with her pink toungue. Karim made a weird expression with his face.

"Yo. Karim- pass the salt." Hakeem outstretched his arm, as a gesture for Karim to give the salt.

Karim gave the salt and walked out- head low as he tried to remember the different Verses* to put into his Lecture.

Once in the Prayer room, Karim sat down and rubbed his eyes. He missed Sehri* today morning- so he had to do without any food.

He began reciting the Qur'an*, every letter he said, he would be reminded of the things that happened Last Week.

He stopped abruptly, as his vision became blured. He bit his lip and blinked back the tears.

He breathed in and out, slowly.

Breathe in

Every deep breath he took in, he remembered the past- about his father.

Breathe out

After letting it out, he remembered the good times that were spent with Him, his mother and Hakeem.

Breathe in

Every breath he took in, he remembered his friends.

Breathe out

He let go of another breath, and remembered when his mother was lowered in her grave.

Breathe in

He remembered how angry Hakeem was- his face furious and his eyes were deep black.

Breathe out

He remembered Last Week.

Breathe in
