Hakeem's Wedding
2Weeks Later
~~~
Karim stood in front of his mirror. His scars had completely gone, although one was still left. A huge one. Sliced his Heart.
He was an Orphan now.
Karim stood his ground- he became a better Muslim- but not the Perfect.
He went over to his Dressing table and opened one of the draws. While he was rummaging through it, some of the contents fell out from it. He stopped and eyed the scattered pieces on the ground.
Crouching down, Karim picked up a picture. It was torn in the middle. Karim picked up the half and put them two together.
It was of Hakeem, his Fiance and.... And... The Guy who killed his mother!
Karim's anger built up inside him, the last time he was angry was when he'd- no. He didn't want to think about it.
Flinching he stormed out of his room to show Hakeem.
"Haakeeeeeemm!!" Karim banged on his bedroom door. It was Hakeem's wedding day today. Whoever the guy was- was obviously related to Hakeem's fiance. Well- from now on Wife. Well- After the Nikkah... And you get the point.
"Whhhaat?!" Hakeem opened the door- his hair styled to perfection and he had his Clothes on. Look good bro. Karim thought, jealous.
Karim held up the pictures, "This."
Hakeem's eyes went wide, then suddenly back to normal.
Why did his eyes go wide?! What on earth is going on?!
"Duh. It's a picture." Hakeem said in his sarcastic-duh voice. Karim rolled his eyes, but before he could proceed, Hakeem pushed him up against the wall.
"Listen, lil' bro. It's my wedding today. Don't mess it up."
Karim gulped but without thinking, he said, "Or what?" Great.
Hakeem pushed Karim even further, his hand on Karim's chest.
"Or I'll... Kill you."
~~~
The rings were on.
The Nikkah was done.
Karim still didn't comprehend what Hakeem meant. Did this mean he knew about the picture? Karim sighed.
Ya Allah!
I ask for forgiveness! Please, help me... I'm so confused I don't even know what my life is anymore!
Ya Allah!
You were able to help me, yet I wasn't looking right- Please, send a sign. Pleeaassseeee.
Karim almost giggled when he thought he must've sounded real crazy, when he said Please.
"Ameen."
Karim jumped and turned around. It was him! It was The Guy.
Still, don't know his name...
"uhh..err...ah..yeaah..." Karim couldn't speak, and in front of him was his hand.
That same hand that killed his mum.
Karim looked At him in disgust.
"Ha. Ha. Ha." The guy had his hand stuck out, waiting for Karim to shake it.
There's no way in hell I'm shaking that
Karim scoffed, but then he saw Hakeem coming over to them- big grin and all.
"Aah... See you two are getting along fine." Karim grit his teeth.
"Just Great." The guy replied, smiling. Hah.
Karim faked a smile- but there was one place he really wanted to be.
The Graveyard
~~~
Karim trudged slowly, dragging his feet along the grass.
After Ramadan, and The Beginning of Eid, Karim came here to ask for Forgiveness from his parents. Especially his mother, whom he had slapped then suddenly died.
Karim felt so guilty, he also felt like he didn't pray enough- or he felt like he wasn't getting forgiven.
Karim slowly bent down to pick a flower. It may not have been a bouquet of roses, but a Sunflower was enough. Or that's what he thought.
He gently placed the flower onto the grave- and with his fingers, he traced the outline of her name.
Halima Ahmed
Mother of Hakeem Ahmed
May Allah Grant Her Jannah (Paradise)
1960-2014
Karim noticed how his name wasn't on the Headstone. He felt his heart sink down onto the floor and a tear exited his body, almost waiting to be free. He sniffed.
He then sat down next to his mother's grave, and played with the grass. He didn't say anything and slowly he noticed something getting darker.
He looked up- there were no clouds but it expected to rain tonight. The sun looked tired as it set- shooting the bright colours, igniting the sky.
Subhan Allah (praise be to Allah)
Karim was amazed at the beauty of how Allah could power over all the universe- and us Humans took everything for granted... How we had polluted everything and didn't look after it.
Once what Karim done.
Again, the dark towered near Karim. Behind him to be Precise. He gulped. The sudden gloomy atmosphere filled the air.
He could literary feel his back going cold. He gulped.
When Karim looked behind- he saw no one there. He gulped.
Karim's heart sped up. He was scared. Instead of gulping for the third time, they had gotten stuck in his throat.
Few minutes had passed by, and it felt eerily creepy. As if someone was following him. He wanted to leave. He wanted his parents back.
But not today. Today was not that day.
He stared up at the sky, watching the clouds parting and re-joining with each other. It was cool. Karim felt a small wet drop hit his cheek. He stared once more. It wasn't the rain. It was his tears.
Tears of laughter, joy, happiness all faded away.
Karim's eyes widened and he fell forward. He couldn't move. He was paralyzed. Or at least that was what he thought. Out other corner of his glistening eyes, he saw crimson. He gasped. He sobbed. He screamed. He was no more.
There, was he. Hakeem. Holding a gun. Staring at Karim with evil eyes. In them, was shock.
The End.
