You know those moments where you say something that you probably shouldn't have and it repeats in your head the rest of your existence? Yeah, that was happening right now. I'm not sure why I asked it in the first place, I mean I wanted to know, but I also knew it wasn't a very sensitive way to talk about it.

"I've got the toe and nail polish!" Evelina exclaims from the doorway, lifting buckets full of multi-colored polishes. My eyes widen.

"Wow," When I asked her to see if there were any nail things to fix my disgusting ones, I wasn't expecting this much stuff. She scurries over to me, putting paper towels on the white carpet before pulling my foot onto it.

"I've always wanted to do this, like in the movies," The way she looks at my horrendous toes sets me on edge, but I guess she was a healer, she was used to seeing way grosser things. "I'll do yours and you can do mine okay?" I nod my head in agreement, smiling at how happy she was. Thankfully, Evelina had gotten less shy, it comforted me having a friend in the castle.

I watch as she trims my nails, before pulling out some red polish. My intent watching of Evelina's process was interrupted by a knock at the door but the person quickly just walked in before either of us could say anything.

In the doorway stands a tall, woman. She had the body of a model, wavy black hair and green eyes.

"Mind if I join?" She asks shyly, I don't miss the twinkle of a wedding ring as she runs her hand through the soft, black hair. Or at least it looks soft, I've never felt her hair.

"Amara!" Evelina cries happily, tapping the spot on the floor right next to her, "Come sit!" With a smile, Amara happily walks over to us, sitting in front of me. Amara. She's the girl who wanted to talk to Sebastián.

"Hi," Her smile makes her cheekbones even more prominent than they already were. "I'm Amara Santos, Sebastián's little sister" Oh. She was his sister.

"I'm Cristine" Amara's gentle aura filled the room. The same aura I got from the painting, who now I figure is her mother.

"Bastián's mate, Nathanio told me a lot about you" The corners of her mouth rise as she subconsciously rubs her thumb over her left ring finger, where her wedding ring lay.

"Nathanio?" everyone here had such odd names, but it didn't ring a bell.

"My Husband," She holds her left hand up, showing us the ring that seems to weigh more than the finger it rested on." Sebastián sent him to keep an eye on you when you worked at that nightclub, he even had him flirt with you but you didn't take the bait" Her eyes dazzle in appreciativeness, they almost completely cover the slight jealousy that momentarily flashes across her delicate face.

My mouth forms an 'O' as I nod in understanding. Her husband was the man from the bar who said his name was Kasper no wonder he was always there. Sebastián forced him.

"Okay!" Evelina holds her hands up "Amara you're next!" I quickly scoot over to make room for Amara. She wasn't really all that similar to her brother at all. Despite looking alike, they didn't have much in common, they were almost polar opposites.

"So, how are you and my brother getting along?" Her eyes smile at me, momentarily looking away from Evelina's hard work. The corners of my mouth turn into a frown.

"We don't really talk..." I admit. Amara purses her lips.

"Well, you tried to remove his mark, that's not something easily forgotten" I lower my head, Amara was taking Sebastián's side and I didn't blame her. It was dumb of me to try to run away and get rid of the mark, as well as selfish.

"Yeah, I guess I've never really had a proper conversation with him," Which was true. Sometimes it felt as if the little conversations we had were so stiff as if we'd be making a business deal or something.

"Well, that explains it" Amara scoffs and lightly slaps my arm. "You should go talk to him," I nod in agreement. "Cristine, I meant now, go!" She laughs as I hesitantly stand up and leave my room with newly pampered feet. By now, I knew my way around the castle, Evelina had given me a very informative tour.

But tracking Sebastián down was harder than I anticipated. Without my wolf, I couldn't reach out for his scent to track him, I just had to simply guess.

After checking both the kitchen and his office, I head to my last guess: the gym. If he wasn't here, then I had no idea where he could possibly be.

As I near the gym I hear the sound of a punching bag being, well, punched. Sure enough, inside the gym was Sebastián's half-naked, sweaty, glistening body. He looked very angry, so angry that I almost left, but he noticed me before I could.

"Cristine," He shakes his hair out, droplets of his sweat flying everywhere, and grabs a towel. Walking towards me, he throws the towel so it rests on his shoulder and takes a sip of his water. "What is it" My eyes widen, why did I come here? I didn't even rehearse the conversation in my head yet.

"Oh um.." My eyes wander to my mark on his neck, seeing my initials on his skin sent a shockwave through my body. "I-I don't know, to talk?" I wince.

"Ok, talk" Alright this was a lot harder than I thought it would be. He looked angry at me for interrupting him.

"I'm sorry...for everything" As soon as the words left my mouth, I felt as if the world was lifted off my shoulder. It was an amazing feeling.

"We can hate each other all we want sweetheart, frankly I don't give a fuck that you're my mate, or that I even have one, I just am not planning on dying anytime soon so don't try it again" His whole demeanor changes, he was cold again.

"Well, that's what I thought, that's why I tried to get it removed because I thought you didn't want me" My voice is quiet in an attempt to keep myself from crying.

"Well I'm the King, so that's impossible, maybe you should've used that damn head of yours before you went and almost killed me" His teeth were clenched together, fangs elongated.

"I-I'm sorry Sebastián, I'll leave you alone if that's what you want, I understand if you don't want to be my mate" Swallowing down my tears, I attempt to maintain my composure but Sebastián's words hurt more than any physical pain I've ever felt. He sort of has a knack for that.

"That's the problem Cristine" He abruptly pushes me against the wall, his naked torso pressed to my thin tank top. "I want you so bad, and I have no idea why." His hot breath dances across my skin, his lips following. I gasp when he puts his mark between his teeth, pleasure spreading throughout my body despite being without a wolf. "You have no idea what you do to me minha flor"

A/N

Hello! This is a very short chapter, I know. I'm not sure if any of you keep up with my updates but I wrote a Christmas special chapter that I will be publishing on Christmas day. It's not important to the story, I just felt like it would be a fun part.

Anyways.

Thank you so much for reading and voting and commenting. It makes my day.
