"Sebastián, calm down" I growl, holding back my fuming mate by the bicep, or at least trying to. "I swear to god Sebastián if you don't drop it you're on the couch for a week" Sebastián's emerald eyes meet mine, cold, unreadable.

"I'm not intimidated by your threats Cristine" His eyes momentarily told a different story but he immediately masked all emotion except anger.

"Let's. Go." My voice is strong and demanding, almost similar to the 'Alpha voice' Sebastián uses when giving orders. The tone scares me, but I do my best not to overthink it. I would be Luna, this was bound to happen eventually, my body was essentially programmed that way. The thought was intimidating, having our fate decided and already written at birth, but that's just the way it is.

Sebastián finally relents, yanking his arm out of my grasp and pushing ahead of me. The action sent a chill through my body. One wrong move and he completely goes cold on me.

The car ride home was equally as awkward, Amara tried to make conversation but it would eventually end with single word answers, enveloping the car in silence once again. It was only after Sebastián and I crossed the threshold of our room that he finally spoke.

"You are not to look at any other male" He orders, making my jaw drop open. He can't be serious.

"Good one Sebastián, nice try but that's not happening" At my words his eyes darken as I'm pushed against a wall. Sebastián and his pushing-people-against-walls kink.

Our faces are centimeters away, I feel the gravel in his chest against mine as he growls.

"You're mine. Do you get that? Only mine" He grits between his teeth that now sported razor-sharp canines. His words sent a shockwave through my body but now was not the time to think like that.

"You don't own me" In turn, I flash my own canines and watch as his eyes once again grow impossibly darker.

"But I do, you feel that?" He runs the tip of his nose over my mark, inhaling my scent that probably now was laced with my arousal. "This mark means you're mine minha flor, don't forget how good I can make you feel." I want to roll my eyes at his words but his actions make it hard to think about anything else, it's like my brain was made of mush. I hate this.

"You don't own me," I repeat "I'm a person, I am not owned" My voice shakes but I do my best to ignore it, feeling a sudden anger sizzle inside me. "And if you have a problem with that, then forget about this whole mate thing, I don't care if it's impossible, I will find a way to break the bond" And with that, pushing him with every ounce of strength in my body, I storm out of the room not listening to anything he has to say. I needed to put him in his place while I still can. I will not go through another abusive relationship.

"Cristine? What are you doing here?" The door to Amara's room opens a few moments after the knock. I hadn't realized where my feet were taking me, but upon seeing her worried face, something inside me broke. My knees sink to the floor and sobs make my entire body seize. Warm arms wrap around me, dragging me onto something comfy and warm, which I make out to be an armchair, but it was hard to see with the tears in my eyes.

Amara stays silent and lets me cry, not saying anything, just holding me. I had no idea how much I needed that, just someone being there with me, not saying anything, just her presence was enough.

We stayed like that for a while before I spoke up. I was ready, ready to tell my story. I think...

"Amara?" She hums in response, tickling my ears with the vibrato reverberating inside her chest. "If I tell you something, can you promise not to tell anyone, it isn't anything bad, just personal." She pulls away and grabs my face, forcing my eyes to meet her warm ones.
