Friends

MOM: You should go to the party.
KID: Why?

MOM: To make friends.

KID: But I already have a lot of friends.
MOM: Then you should hang out with them at the party.
KID: Why?
MOM: It's good to talk with them.
KID: But I do plenty of that already.
MOM: Really? I never see you go out. When?
KID: I'm doing it right now.
MOM: But you're on your phone.

KID: I'm messaging my friends.
MOM: Ask them to hang out with you in person. It's good to see them face-to-face every once in a while.
KID: All of them?
MOM: Why not?

KID: That's going to be expensive.

MOM: What do you mean?
KID: I have over 1K friends, at least one from each country.
MOM: ...

Once Upon a Time

Once upon a time
There was a girl
Who couldn't care less
About the the world

She thought there was rhyme
And just as much reason
In only thinking of
The one important person

For if Hitler killed Jews
To help himself
If kings of old dreamed
Of filling gold shelves

If one of two characters
Thought the best man as he
Then why couldn't she
Why shouldn't she?

So by Cherokee word
She fed the bad wolf
Just as had Gaston
And George and Adolf
