Hi! This is just a random collection of all the poems I've written, good or bad. Feel free to secretly mock my horrible poems (emphasis on secretly), but I'd appreciate some compliments and some constructive criticism. If you like this, please give me a vote!

And, here's a poem (it's not as long as it looks).

The Blanket

He goes
She goes
They go

"Oh my gosh!"
"Did you hear?"
"Look over there!"
"Isn't he hot?"
"She's so fat!"

Innocent children turn to
Corpses
Swept away by
The current

Not thinking
Not knowing

Pure white
Child's blanket
Stained with the
Impurities of life
Then tossed away
Like a rag
Leaving behind

An empty slate
Filled and erased
With empty words
Over and over
Again

Yet the one
Who does not
Ignore it
But washes it
And once again
Enjoys
The soft blanket
Cherished memories
Childhood stories
Wraps it around
Their shoulders
Anchored by their
Mother's love
Safe and warm

Watching the others
Rush by
Not stopping
Not slowing
Not thinking
Not living

The others who
Threw away
Their blankets
To join
The masses in
The river
That they
Thought a stream

Not stream but
River
Of "pop culture"
Of social media
Of trends
Of division and
Exclusion

The mother begs
The child
"Please don't throw
away your blanket"

That blanket that
She
For hours
Past midnight
Stitched for
Her beloved child

That blanket that
Was tossed away
Like a rag

That blanket that
Kept them safe
From the river
That they thought
A stream

That blanket that
Taught them
To live

That blanket that
Without which
The children
Turned to
Mindless corpses
Not knowing

Not aware
Of the fact
That they
Could reach for
Their blankets

And stop
For a moment

And observe

And maybe

Just maybe

Start living
Their lives
