I sat outside of the change rooms to wait for the others to finish changing. But I couldn’t help but hear that Makoto was teaching the kids at Iwatobi SC. I just smiled at the thought of Makoto helping out the kids and wondered if I should help too.
The guys finally then, got out of the change rooms and asked within our group, who would like to help Makoto. I just rose up my hand and volunteered. Mostly because I thought it was fun; but when I raised my hand everyone looked at me awkwardly.
Nagisa: Hm… now that I think about Shiro-chan can help too. Her time is way beyond ours and also, she is pretty good with kids!
Makoto: Now that I think about it, I remember one time when we went to the amusement park together, Shiro found a lost child. And when both Haru and I were looking for the child’s guardian, Shiro stayed with him. When we came back the child was laughing and giggling. *Laughs*
Rei: Shiro-senpai, gambette!!
Me: Okay.
Makoto: Let’s train extra hard today!
Us: Un!!!!
A couple of days later I walk in with Makoto to go and help out.
Sasabe: Oh! Shiro! Are you here to swim too?
Me: Actually, I was wondering if I could help you. After all, you did coach us when we were younger so I think this is a great opportunity to return the favour.
Sasabe: Eh? *laughs* Thanks! Makoto will show you the ropes.
After both Makoto and I got changed, we went to the pool where all the children were.
Me: Kon’nichiwa, I will also be coaching you all today while also helping Coach Tachibana. It is nice to meet you all. My name is Takashima.
Children: Nice to meet you!
I just looked at all of them and smiled. A certain chibi stood out to me as I stared and smiled at all of them.
Children: We’re ready to practice!!!
Makoto: Let’s have a great practice.
I just nodded and waited for Makoto to instruct us on what to do.
Child 1: Coach Tachibana, what are we going to do today?
Makoto: Why don’t we start by practicing our butterfly kicks?
Children: Okay!
So both Makoto and I sat in between the kids. I sat beside the chibi who looked very down as we were working on our kicks. Watching his every move, he didn’t seem like he enjoyed it very much.
Then we went to put our heads underwater. Makoto watched after everyone underwater as I watched the kids who were hesitant about putting their head underwater.
We then decided to move forward with the kick boarding exercise where the kids would hold onto the kick board in front of them and use their legs to move forward. I watched everyone’s reaction to that and apparently, chibi-kun was making quite a long face about it.
