You spent an entire day with Sora and Kairi giggling at stupid inside jokes, telling stories about your travels, and just being reunited. The next day Cid landed in Traverse Town and Kairi was given a room next to yours in the little house you all inhabited while you were there. You were glad that they had acquired housing that allowed for so many people to stay with them. Kairi asked you to take her around town during lunch time and you happily agreed. As the two of you were leaving Leon stopped you at the door.

"Don't forget that we need to be training. The sooner we can return to Hollow Bastion the better."

Before you could respond Tifa swatted him with a towel. Apparently she had been making herself lunch and overheard him. "Give them a day, Leon! [Name]'s been worried sick about her friend for months and Kairi is most likely still recovering from whatever they had been using to keep her half-conscious."

"Thanks, Tifa!" Kairi chirped before pulling you out the door. "So, where should we go first?"

You thought for a moment before you remembered one of the first places the team had taken you. "Come on." You grinned and led your friend downtown to a little shop on a corner.

"Ooo," Kairi's eyes grew big as she looked in through the window. An assortment of armor, magically charged jewelry, and weapons were laid out on black velvet.

You smiled and held the door open for her.

"Do you think maybe I could get some kind of weapon, or should I have some kind of armor?" Kairi asked as she stepped inside.

You hummed in thought and glanced at the man behind the counter. He had helped you and the team before. Then you remembered that the team had an account here that went directly to King Mickey. ...and it wouldn't be a bad idea for her to be protected. "I don't think it would be a bad idea to get you some armor and maybe something to defend yourself."

Kairi smiled and turned toward one of the glass cases, her eyes glittering. "What do you think I should get?"

You crossed your arms and stepped up beside her. Currently she was looking at heavy plate armor that shone silver in the storelights. You wrinkled your nose. That wouldn't work. She needs something lighter, something that wouldn't impede her movement. She's not used to wearing armor. Even the armor that I wear is minimal and lightweight. You looked over at the other side of the long case. A outer-piece of leather and chainmail caught your eye. It wasn't as shiny as what she had been looking at, but you knew it would work better for her. "What about something like this?" you asked her, pointing at the armor. "I don't think you want something so heavy you can't move."

"Alright," she nodded.

You gestured at the clerk behind the counter and he came over to take it out of the case. He handed it to Kairi and she looked at it in her hands, staring a little dumbly.

"Try it on," you giggled.

Her face reddened slightly. "Oh, right."

She slipped it on over her head and you helped her fasten the leather straps at her sides. When you stepped back to get a good look at her you noticed she was standing pretty stiffly, but it fit her fine.

Holding back another laugh, you nodded. "Alright. Now, what do you think you can wield?"

"I don't know," she shrugged, the armor rising with her shoulders. "What's easy to learn?"

You considered the weapons that the rest of the team wielded. Kairi wouldn't be able to use her fists like Tifa, she wasn't strong enough to do much damage. Learning to throw shuriken like Yuffie would take a good amount of time as well. Giant swords like Cloud's would be too much for her to try to throw around. Maybe something more simple like Cid's spear, or a gunblade like Leon's... You looked around the store for spears or light, little gunblades, and your eyes landed on a pistol-sized gunblade. It was a dark grey, with accents of silver. You walked over to the case that it was in and pointed at it. "What about this?"
