Elijah's POV

Niklaus got up from the ground as Rebekah spoke and swam quickly to her but she stopped him. Raising her hand, she froze him in place. He struggled in place as the room grew even colder than before. Her voice thundered as she got closer to our brother. "You dare come at me after I have explained and been kind to you down here."

She paused for a minute before a sinister smile grew on her face. "Maybe I should take away my gift and send you on your way back on earth to the millions of people who want you dead. You'd be all alone because Elijah cannot go back until I turn him back to his human form." Her hand closed into a fist, and I watched as she turned Niklaus back to his human form. He tried to get away as he was at full hybrid strength but he could not move, and as a result of that veins crawled up his skin, forcing him temporarily dead from drowning.

"Marcus, please take my brother to his new cell. Maybe I should let him drown over and over until he gives me the respect I deserve down here. I'll change him back to his mer form in a few days." Marcus came through and with a sneer at me, picked up Niklaus's body from the floor.

As I watched Marcus carry my dead-for-the-moment brother, I realized how much power our sister has over us all down here. She turned to me and I pushed my daughter behind me, terrified of what will happen. Her eyes burned with anger as she hissed at us.

"I have been lenient with you. I am tired of you choosing to question what I do with my life, as it does not concern you. My choices are mine. As I told Blaire, you can visit anytime and I will visit as well. But I want, no I deserve to find love, as Niklaus has denied me that right for so long. The two of you cannot control me down here, as it is my rules. Next time, your brother will receive a much harsher punishment than today, keep him in line." After she said that, she turned and swam off.

"Dad, how is she more powerful than uncle Nik?" Blaire asked me after a few silent moments. "I guess down here in her domain, your aunt is more powerful than even your all powerful hybrid uncle." I replied as I thought about what Rebekah spoke of before Niklaus attacked her. "Even me?" I turned and saw anger in my daughter's eyes as she thought of my sister.

"Do not test her Blaire Victoria Mikaelson do you understand me? Yes you may be powerful but we do not know what powers Rebekah has kept from us. And she may be your aunt and she loves you, but this is her family down here and we best follow her rules. Am I clear?" I questioned when I saw that she was going to argue with me.

Rebekah may love Blaire but if it came down to her challenging her, I know by her actions tonight that my sister would not be lenient towards her or any of us that are not of this world. Especially when it comes to her finding love and starting family.

"Yes daddy. Felix!" My daughter turned and swam out, finding my sister's oldest nephew to hang out. I sighed closing my eyes, my mind turning over thinking of everything that has happened in the past few months of my life. From finding Blaire on that train, to her turning into a monster, and all of this.

I sat down and looked around the room that this happened in. Pictures were hanging and I saw Rebekah in more than half. One stood out to me, and I swam to it to get a closer look. It was Rebekah and a man, stood happily in the doorway of the front of the palace.

"500 years ago." Startled I turned and saw Alana swimming in. "That was my oldest brother, Derek. Rebekah was Derek's best friend, he was the first person aside from her father that Rebekah met when she first arrived. He was, at the time, the head guard to the royal family. He had been trained and went with the King to get Rebekah, mostly because he looked of the age she was. He trained her, so well that she beat even her father who was the most powerful warrior in all the seas. Over the years when she would stay here, the two fell in love. She was at first shy about it because of your brother. She did not know how to handle the relationship, but he helped her. He asked permission from the King to marry her after three years of courting her and got that very permission he was seeking. He proposed moments before that picture was taken. She was so giddy and he adored her more than anything in the world. His eyes was so full of light every time he looked at her, and you could see, in the way she acted with him, that Rebekah would gladly die for him. Two days before they were meant to get married, we were attacked. As head guard, Derek went to fight. The battle lasted all day and into the night before the enemy retreated. But as our army returned to the palace, we noticed that Derek was missing. Rebekah searched for days and nights until we found anything that would help. A week of searching and Marcus found something, nothing good though. Blood and weapons that belonged to my brother. Rebekah was broken, for the king determined that he was killed or taken. That is also when we discovered that the stress of losing him had caused her to miscarriage. She had no idea until it happened that she was with child. She disappeared for five years, back on land we assumed. But what really happened was worse." She spoke eyes watery, yet not moving her stare away from the picture.

"That's enough Alana, no need to tell him anything that he could use against my sister." Dawn appeared at the door, anger on her face as she glared at me. "Alana why don't you go help Rebekah get ready for bed, she has had a long day and I would like a word with Mr. Mikaelson." Alana nodded and swam out, one last sad look at the photograph on the wall.

Quiet was all that was heard in the next few moments as Dawn swam past me towards the bed and sat down. "Why is it Elijah, that you follow your brother's every action? Is he all that matters to you? Because I worry for your daughter if it is seeing as you seem to have no life of your own, following Niklaus like a lost puppy, even being quite rude to your sister in the process." She looked at me, expecting an answer. Yet I did not have one.

"See it from your sisters point of view, her life she has followed the rules the two of you have set above sea level. She has never plotted against the two of you, enough to kill you all even though she certainly has the power to do so. All she has asked of the two of you is to follow her rules, for however long you are here for. And even though she is a princess, Blaire is also expected to follow the rules. My sister has been through more in her life than you see and she is close to her breaking point. This war is taking a toll on her and I fear if we do not finish it quickly, she will die. And earth will be under the rule of people you do not wish to meet. People who have more power than anymore above the sea, people whose power is slowly climbing to meet Rebekah's status and even your daughter. Think about what you could lose if we do not win. As much as my husband and I hate it, we need Blaire to help us, and by needing her we also need you and Niklaus. Yet, if you push my sister anymore, she will send you and your brother on your way. She will turn to ways to get your daughter to help that she has promised herself she would not use. Pick which one you would rather have happen, you and your siblings fighting side by side protecting your daughter or you and Niklaus being sent back to land with no memories of anything about this life or Blaire. Think carefully, oh and please return to your room. Due to Niklaus's actions tonight, you and Blaire will be watched until I deem you trustworthy to this kingdom." With that said, I was forced out of the room and the door slammed behind me.

I swam to Blaire's room, seeing guards outside her room. They eyed me carefully as I went in. I saw my daughter asleep on her bed, peacefully with a smile at whatever she was dreaming of. I covered her and with a kiss on her head, turned the lights off and headed towards my room. On my way I passed Niklaus's room and knew he would not be there for some time. As I finally got to my room, I saw guards standing out in front of the door and I knew they would be watching me just as Dawn had said.

All I knew as I went to bed was that I had a lot to think about when it came to Rebekah.
