* Chapter 4*The Meeting

The next day while Mahir was driving he was busy on his phone. Bela was driving up the street while he was driving down. Their cars were about to collide when Bela hit her brakes. In anger she came out the car and Mahir came out of his. When they came out their eyes met. In shock Mahir saw Bela after so long. Bela's nightmare was coming true, she was meeting Mahir and now the truth is going to be out. Divya came out the car and said" Mahir uncle you almost killed us!" In shock Mahir asked" Divya do you know this lady?" She then answered " Yes this is my mom Bela." Mahir was left in shock. Bela then grabbed Divya's hand and was about to leave when Mahir stopped them. He said to Bela with anger in his eyes" Bela you have a child! So who is the lucky guy?" She then answered with tears in her eyes" YOU! You are Divya's father's Mahir!" Divya was left in shock. Mahir then said" What! How is this possible!" Bela answered" 13 years ago you divorced me and I was pregnant then. I wanted to tell you but I thought that you would never accept Divya because I'm a naagin and she is also! I kept this from her all these years. I lied to her. I kept her away from you but destiny had something else planned." Mahir then said in anger" How could you keep this away from me Bela! Divya is my daughter and I never saw her grow up! I never saw her take her first step, I never saw her say her first word, I never saw her on her first day of school, why did you do this to me Bela, why?" Before someone else could say something Divya yelled" Mom you hid this from me all these years. Every time I asked you who is my father you always say that I don't have one! I was in denial for the past 13 years why did you do this to me Mom?" Bela then shouted " I know I lied to you both but what was my problem in it? Because I am a naagin I kept this secret from Mahir because I know he would never accept you Divya! I hid that I was a naagin from Mahir since we were married. I wanted to tell him but couldn't gather the courage to do so. When I finally gathered the courage he divorced me just because I am a naagin. I really wanted to tell you that Mahir was your father but I know that you would want to meet him and if you did he would never accept you. I told lies on top of lies and now it's getting to me. I know I am different from others but a least treat me the same as the humans. My life is a total mess! I don't deserve to live anymore!" Bela then turned into a snake and went away. Mahir and Divya went after her. She finally reached the edge of a cliff. Mahir shouted" No Bela No! Please don't jump! I am at fault in this. I pushed you away out of my life without thinking! Even though you are different from others I pushed you away because of what you are! I am really sorry Bela! I love you! And anyway who would take care of our daughter?" On hearing what Mahir said she ran back and hugged him. They then hugged Divya and went home.
