Allison scurried into her Honors French class on a Wednesday morning. She had been held back for a year due to moving but, French was her best subject, so she was technically the only the sophomore in the class. It was always hard to adjust to a new school during the first few weeks, and this had proved to be the hardest move yet. She couldn't wait for college and for friends she'd have for a lifetime and to fall in love. That definitely wouldn't happen in Beacon Hills.
The room ultimately halted when she walked in, and Allison followed suit with the rest of the class when she looked up at the girl who'd now entered the room. Something was haunting about her. She was undoubtedly beautiful with golden skin and tight, dark curls. Allison couldn't help but, watch intently as her lips formed words with the French teacher who was practically beaming.
Everyone seemed to feign innocence when the Laina Keaton turned to face the class, silently walking towards the back of the classroom, the only sound was the click of her boots. She sat down lazily, and Allison was watching her intently, though the energy she was giving off said that was the last thing she wanted. Everything about Laina screamed 'don't fuck with me,' from her black leather jacket to the silver moon and sun rings adorned on her middle finger. She clearly didn't want to be at school; she especially didn't want to be around the people there and now was trying her best to ignore the gaze from the girl beside her.
Laina wasn't sure if she was trying to be subtle, but it was a complete failure. "Yes?" Allison jumped when the girl spoke to her, fighting the blush that wanted appear on her cheeks.
"Hm?"
"You've been staring me for the past twenty minutes. Either I have something on my face, or you have something to say." Allison found herself speechless, blinking a few times and raking her mind for a response.
"I-I, uh, I-"
Laina watched in annoyance as she struggled to come up with an answer. "Good talk." She said sarcastically before turning her attention to the class. Allison could only sit there dumbfounded, focusing intently in front of her and making sure she did not look anywhere else. No one had ever spoken to her like that before.
When class ended, Allison practically chased after the rude girl. "Hey! Hey!" Laina begrudgingly paused, slowing down her pace so she could catch up with her. "I know you weren't here for the first couple of days so if you want, I can give you my notes." She had to admit that she was surprised Allison had approached her after their little conversation. Laina was impressed, but not impressed enough to want a friendship.
"I think I can manage." Her cold demeanor didn't falter.
"Oh. Are you sure? It's really not a bi-"
Laina stopped abruptly, turning to face her. "Hey. You're new, right?" Allison nodded. "Listen, honey, I get it. You have this girl next door vibe going on, and you're trying to make new friends. I'm not a good friend to have, ok? There are plenty of other p- why are you smiling at me like that?"
Allison was sporting an infectious grin. "We're going to be friends."
Laina furrowed her eyebrows, shaking her head in confusion. "Did you not hear anything I just said?" It was as if Allison had completely disregarded everything she had just been saying to her a mere second ago.
"I did. I'm Allison by the way."
"I gotta go." She sighed, growing increasingly irritated by the girl.
Laina had barely created any distance between them when Allison called after her again. Laina audibly growled before she faced her, slowly walking backward. "Wait! I didn't catch your name." She called out, raising her voice slightly.
