Harry Styles

She had fucking nipple piercings.

Out of literally everything, she had to have one thing I did not fucking think of once. And it genuinely never crossed my mind. Then again, my feelings in the past were not the way they are now so I guess my curious eyes came with this change.

Especially after our game of twenty questions. Which, again, ended up being literally five or so before I got distracted and we just ended up talking.

She was so strange to me. So unexpected. So different. So... everything I didn't expect her to be.

Based on what she had shown me over the years, I did not realise she was so much fun. Yes, she was fun. When she wasn't too much in her head, focused on her business. Don't get me wrong, that was kind of hot and very inspirational, the way she dedicated all her time and being to her company was honestly fucking amazing. But when she let go and didn't give all of her attention away to work, it was like a completely different person. I wondered if this was how she used to be.

She seemed to be so full of life. She was so spontaneous, so up for everything and it made me sad to realise she was no longer going to show this side of her once we are back home. She was no longer going to look at me without creases on her forehead, without the dip between her furrowed eyebrows, with sparkling eyes and a soft smile. Or a smug one. She was no longer going to just let me be near her and she was definitely not going to kiss me again.

At least, that was what embedded itself into my mind. And it was also the reason why I tried to make sure she'd still like me when we landed back at Heathrow.

Once we were back from the city, we both got changed and went straight for a nap. It surprised me how fast I had fallen asleep, then again, being out all morning, in the cold, definitely wore me out. It seemed like it worked wonders for Kensington, too, because strangely, she was asleep. I had no idea if she slept last night but, in that hour and a half that we spent – apparently so – cuddling during our nap was something she desperately needed. Her body, especially.

Wait, she had sleeping pills that she took every night. So that meant she fell asleep by herself this time around because I didn't catch her taking them.

That made me smile softly, the fact that she was able to drift off without any medication was a relief. She really did work all the time and it made my heart hurt that it was because that was the only place, she felt safe and sound. She didn't tell me this, obviously, I just figured it all out.

Well, not all of it. But I was getting there the more she opened up to me.

It was clear that her ex ruined her and she had no time to get over it. She had no one to talk to, which she pretty much admitted to me, and that saddened me. She was such an amazing person but no one truly knew her because they couldn't be bothered to find out more about her. Sure, she was a tough one to crack open but that was because she had trust issues and therefore didn't have the courage to let her guards down. She was protecting herself. That was understandable, she clearly had a shit experience with her last relationship.

"Too warm," she mumbled as she pushed herself away from my chest. Her back was against me, my crotch against her bum and legs tangled under the covers. A low chuckle escaped my lips as I watched her upper body wiggle away from me and she slowly pulled her legs away from mine, too. Her voice was deeper than usual, the sleep thickly coated her vocal chords and gave her a meaner sound.

"Good morning, Kensington. How are we feeling?" I asked her as a yawn escaped my mouth, my hand covered it up as I felt my eyes water a little bit.
