Mark closed his eyes. He hugged Skulls twice, trying to be as calm as possible. "Alright," he finally said in a sad but calm voice. "You can... you can live in the forest." Tears trickled down Mark's face.
Skulls hugged Mark back. "You make a good human. I bet all cats you adopt will adore you."
Mark smiled. "Skulls, that's the nicest thing you've ever said! I love you so much, and I will truly miss you."
"Ye, I won't be sayin' it anymore though."
"Of course," Mark laughed. "But try to be more nice, ok? At least stop calling everyone idiots and stuff."
Skulls growled for half a second, then stopped and smiled. "Alright, I'll try."
Mark smiled back at him and patted him on the back. "Ok, I better get going. Bye, Skulls! I hope you have a wonderful new life!" Mark started shoving his way through the weeds and bushes.
"Oh, and you can visit me if you'd like!" Skulls called out at the last second. "I'm mostly near Blue creek!"
Mark ran back home. "Wow, my Skulls cat has gotten a lot nicer!" He smiled even bigger, but then his smile slowly started to turn into a sad frown. "I already miss him..." Mark sniffed, arriving at home and opening the door to a sight of Lily grooming her paws, like always.
"Oh, hi again, Marky Mark." Lily laughed, setting her paws down on the carpet.
"Would you stop calling me that?" Mark hissed.
"Fine," Lily continued grooming her paws, as if she thought Mark had already walked away.
"Skulls is gone," Said Mark.
Lily said nothing and simply kept on grooming.
Mark growled a bit, annoyed that Lily wasn't listening. But Mark decided that Lily didn't need to know anyways. After all, she was just a random cat that Mark just recently got. Mark hadn't even planned on keeping Lily. At least now he only had one cat to deal with, since Milo was at the vet and Skulls was gone in the forest.
Meanwhile, Skulls was stomping on the green grass at Blue creek. The grassy feel on his paws reminded him of the good times when he was king.
"You know what? I need to become king of the forest again!" Skulls shouted, trotting through the thick weeds and bushes.
Skulls arrived at a big forest area. The light struggled to get through the tall trees, causing it to be a bit darker than usual. Skulls would haft to get used to this place.
