How Peculiar

Chapter Five

   The moment Theodora appeared, Naz turned around and disappeared back into the room. Athena watched and sighed. Aranea rolled her eyes as she stuck to the ceiling. Tom ran to Theo and hugged her tightly.

   "That was really really scary." He mumbled. She hugged him back, nodding.

   "Athena. Please check him over while I go attend to something." Theo said, letting go of Tom. "Tom, you're safe here. Especially with Athena. So don't worry I'll be back as soon as possible." Tom nodded and walked over to Athena. Her wings retreated in to her back and she smiled warmly. Theo began to walked toward the main door, but stopped as she began to pull it open. "Oh, and Athena, love? Put something on, will you?" Athena gave a hard eye roll.

   "Jesus Theo. I had to train. If your powers actually did something useful for the team, you'd know what that feels like." Athena rested her hands on her hips, a sly smile appearing on her face. Theo froze. Aranea sucked in breath. Tom backed away a little bit. Then, in a flash Theo spun and ran at Athena. Athena just stood, not moving. And, when Theo was just seconds away, Athena jumped and planted her hands between Theo's shoulder blades. She used the leverage to flip her self upwards and landed on her feet behind Theo.

   A smirk appeared on Athena's face as she ran her hands through her hair. Tom's eyes were wide. She had just done a flip off of someone's back. It was amazing. Incredible. Naz had come back to the door and was watching with a smug face. Athena took a small bow and Theo sighed.

   "Fine, Thea. You win." Theo chuckled. She laughed a bit louder after a moment, then slipped out through the door. Tom felt a tap on his shoulder and turned around, expecting to see Athena, but no one was there. Aranea gave a small laugh and dropped from the ceiling. A girl then materialized beside Tom. He jumped backwards and fell.

   The girl had long, dark brown hair. Her eyes a blueish green. She had fair skin and wore a blue sundress with a hood. How had she just appeared? Like poof! He stared at her probably a good five minutes, his mouth wide open.

   "Shut your fucking mouth!" Naz snapped at him. Tom closed his mouth. Athena sent Naz a glare. The poof girl stuck out her hand to Tom in a friendly manner.

   "Hi!" She chirped happily. "I'm Emily. I know you're Tom. Sorry if I startled you. I tend to do that. A lot." He stood up and shook her hand.

   "It's nice to meet you. Emily." He greeted. "I have so many question for you guys." Emily giggled softly while Athena nodded, clearly understanding his want for answers.

   "I will answer most, if not all, of your questions later," Emily began. "But first I'll give you the tour!" She beamed. "Chris! Bring us to the Sessorium!" And just like that, they were absorbed into a stream of light.
