HyunA as Clara's best friend Hannah

CLARA

[played by odeya rush.]

Luck and I have been nemesis for as long as I can remember. Not even for once in my entire seventeen years (okay, sixteen years and four months) of existence has She ever chosen to be on the same boat as me. And to add fuel to the fire, She also happens to have a soft spot for my arch nemesis Stefan King - the infuriating asshole who also happens to be my neighbor.

Luckily (hah, the irony), my family hates Stefan's family as much as I hate him. There seems to a history of rivalry between the Kings and the James' which nobody dares question. We kids from both the families don't know where it started or what reason our families despise each other but we know that we are just to follow our old legacy of hating and competing each other. That's what we were told growing up too.

"Don't be friends with a King, Emery." Grandpa would tell me as a kid. "They aren't to be trusted."

And that's just what I did. I didn't befriend any of the Kings' siblings and it all worked well too because they were probably taught the same thing with little modifications. And also because Stefan never failed too annoy me. It was easier to hate him then, than it would have been if he were nicer.

Hopefully, my senior year at school will be the year where Luck and I will become best of friends - my best friend Hannah's words, not mine. However, that's just plain hope and I'm not looking forward to it because unlike her, I'm quite a practical and realist person and she has an optimistic heart.

"Clara, hurry up!" My eldest brother Carl yells from downstairs.

"In a minute!" I yell back as I give myself a last glance in the mirror before grabbing my school bag and racing downstairs.

"Finally." He sighs dramatically making me stick my tongue out at him like a child.

"We're already late for the first day of school." Colton, my other brother, just a year older than me says with his forever poker face.

I roll my eyes. "I'm here, aren't I? It's Casey who's late."

"Present." My younger sister, the youngest James' sibling raises her hand from the dining table where she's devouring my favorite blueberry pancakes. My mouth waters slightly but the weight of Carl and Colton's gaze is too heavy for me to even take a step towards the dining room.

I groan. "Ugh, fine. I slept in, alright?!" Admitting this was so hard but their gaze didn't waver. I roll my eyes. "Would you look at that? We only have ten minutes to be at school. Hurry your lazy asses." I say as I shove past Carl and Colton who were standing in the middle of the hallway leading towards the main door.

I could practically feel them rolling their eyes at me but I played it cool as I took the backseat in Carl's car. Soon, the three siblings of mine walked out of the door too, Colton locking it behind him. Oh so responsible.

Casey joined me in the backseat while Colton took the shotgun and Carl took the driver's seat. As Carl maneuvered out of the driveway, Casey passed me three pancakes wrapped in a tissue and I squealed at the sight of it making the other three chuckle.

"So mom and dad doing late shifts again?" Casey asked to no one in particular but Carl's hands visibly tightened on the steering wheel. Even my appetite died after that question. Colton, however, somehow managed to keep his poker face intact.
