Loud music, excited chatters and high school kids is all I can feel as Stefan and I make my way inside the crowded gym. I stiffle a giggle as Carl's face of when he saw me come down and then have Josie click pictures of us all once again pops into my mind. Stefan was being a little extra touchy tonight but it was hilarious seeing smoke come out of Carl's ears so I didn't cut off his hands.
My victorious smirk from when I saw Stefan's jaw drop at my appearance was still intact as the two of us walked further inside with his arm around my waist, guiding me towards the table all our friends were sitting. The whispers and murmurs around us seemed to only increase seeing Stefan and I together and it was hard to brush them off but once I saw Hannah and Keith, everything else blurred.
Hannah was dressed in a gold wrap around dress with dramatic glittery eyes and bold red lips looking like a diva that she is. Keith was..... eh, just looking like another guy in a dark grey suit and purple tie. Kidding, my best friend is a heartbreaker and I knew he could feel all the ladies' eyes on him fromtthe way he was looking so smug.
Walking out of Stefan's arms, I was immediately tackled into Keith's, his one arm around Hannah and the other around me, gathering us into a group hug.
"Hola, my beauty queens! You guys are shining brighter than the stars, tonight." He hollered, releasing us and dramatically sweeping his eyes over us, exxagerating the fashion designers we see in movies.
Hannah and I share a look, roll our eyes and simultaneoulsy hit him on the back of his head.
"Thanks, idiot but you should know better than to complement other girls when you're out on date with one." Hannah says before he could ask why he was being assaulted.
Keith's scowl turns into a pout as he looks at us, "Other girls, who? I'm complimenting my best friends and my date is well aware how important the two girls are to me, right, Em?"
Emily rolls her eyes but comes forward to stand beside him and I notice Keith's arm going arond her as if on instinct. "I'm no jealous of them, Keith, but it's basic ethics of when you take another girl out." While Keith frowns and looks confused, trying to make sense of it, she turns to us, "And you girls do look gorgeous."
"So do you, Emily." I say, truly in awe of her strapless dress in hues of purple and magenta giving off constellation vibes which made Keith's comment of Hannah and I shining brighter than stars even more stupid.
Ethan comes around from behind Hannah and takes her away to dance and she giddily allows him to, making me want to gag. Drew approaches me, smiling, his date Dixie in tow and we engage in small talk as we sit back down.
"Here," I hear Stefan say as he sits down beside me and I just now notice he had disappeared for a while. He hands me my drink - a canned soda - and passes other couples he brought down the table to the others, however, he doesn't get any. "I'll share with you." He smiles seeing the look on my face and I snort, passing the can on to him after taking a sip.
We're all bopping to the music, Drew and Dixie gone off to dance as well and I hold in a laugh seeing Hannah and Ethan getting on on the dance floor. They're both screwed in too deep.
"Keith, let's go dance." Emily whines, bringing my attention back at the four of us on the table.
I snort, "Sorry Em, but Keith can't dance to save his life."
Keith glares at me and scoffs, "I'll have you know, C, that I can very much dance."
"Oh, then why don't you show your move from the sixth grade annual day, Keith? You know, the one you made me lose because you were so talented?" I say snarkily making him go red.
