George Harrison: And I Love Him

The Beatles eventually got signed and started to work on their first record. George was spending so much time practising. He felt a lot of pressure, but he was also enjoying the making of the record. The thing I found so special about this record was that it included the song 'Do You Want To Know A Secret' which George had said was our song! Despite all of the time he was putting into this record, he still managed to find a lot of time for me and our families.

Eventually we moved in together. The flat was quite small, but there was enough room for the two of us. As well as George's guitars! Occasionally we would play guitar together. They were always such beautiful moments.

Anne and John would visit us all the time. Anne couldn't play any instruments but she was a marvelous singer! So we would all play our instruments and sing together, it was just fab! Paul would often visit too, showing George the new songs him and John had written for their record. I was always so impressed by the lyrics. Ringo and Maureen would visit too. Ringo was always such a laugh and Maureen was such a sweet woman! John would often call us all 'one big happy family!'.

One night, George took me to the River Mersey. He knew this was my favourite place in the world, as it was so peaceful. It was a warm night and it was just getting dark. There was nobody around, just the two of us. Then, he did what I had been waiting my entire life for. He proposed. I couldn't believe it. 'YES' I cried, then jumped into his arms. We were in love and everything was perfect.
