Just two years before I never would have thought my life would be as it was! It was almost too good to be true.
On the 5th October 1962, the Beatles released their first single 'Love Me Do', a few months before the release of the record 'Please Please Me'. It was a hit. Everyone now loved the Beatles. George's life became more hectic, we were spending less and less time together and I was receiving hundreds of letters a month... most of it being hate mail!
Things had gone downhill so fast, but I was so proud of George that I struggled to see the downside in any of it. I focused on the positives.
George brought me a cat so I wasn't as lonely. I had to laugh though. But cats were mine and George's favourite animal. I called it 'Klaus' after George's friend from Hamburg, Klaus Voormann.
Anne and John would still visit and announced that they were engaged not long after the release of 'Love Me Do'. They got married on Christmas Eve in 1962. It was a wonderful wedding, I even cried a few times!
