In deep trouble

I RAISED my right hand to caress the cats fur but it only hissed at me as a response. Its sharp teeth showing, claws buried in the ground, and its hair standing up in every direction as if it's been electrified.

Tinagilid ko ang ulo ko at muling sinubukang hawakan ito pero ganun parin ang nangyari, pinagkaiba nga lang tumakbo na ito sa mga damuhan sa paligid.

I sighed.

Cons of being a demon. It was stupid of me to think that if the cat would get use to my presence it would eventually become comfortable around me. Pero isang buwan na matapos ko siyang dalhin dito sa bahay ngunit wala pa rin.

"Miss, lunch is ready. Mr Lavigne is waiting at the dining room," imporma nang kararating lang na Butler namin. He had a stern expression on his face, void of any emotions. Like a demon he is.

"A'ight. I'll be there," I said and the butler left after leaving a bow.

I should stop trying already. No matter what I do, I cannot change my fate. I was born a demon and I'll forever live as one. Hindi ko naman ginusto maging ganito pero di rin ibig sabihin nun ay ayaw ko. It has its perks too like supernatural abilities and a gorgeous face, yeah, it does come with the package, only when it depends on what kind of package will you have during delivery.

Muli kong tinanaw ang pusa na ngayon ay malayang nakikipaglaro na sa mga paru-paru. It looks carefree even though danger is just meters away from her. And that danger is me. I did say we had our own disadvantage too right? Well one of those is being unable to have physical contact with cats. And oddly enough, I gain a big liking towards them. Gusto ko silang yakapin at malaman kung ano nga ba talaga ang pakiramdam na mahawakan sila. Pero di pa nga ako nakakalapit tumatakbo na sila. Our aura scares them away.

"Kira," I called out to the cat but it only did a quick glance at my direction before ignoring me completely. I give up, the cat is such a snob.

Pinagpagan ko ang damit ko bago tinahak ang daan papunta sa mansion. Malaki talaga ang lugar na 'to, may dad owns this land and because of his long lasting life, it wasn't hard for him to gain a lot of money.

Pinapalibutan ito ng mga puno at mga tanim. The wall around the place serves as our protection against outsiders and only the main gate is the entrance. We have bodyguards, all of them are demons too. Hindi kasi kakayanin ng normal na taong makipaglaban sa mga ibang creatures sakaling pasukin nila ito.

I arrived at the dining room. I saw dad in his usual business attire and domineering presence. For a man who lived a thousand years, he surely is free from the signs of old age, he doesn't even have a freakin' wrinkle!

Sensing my presence he looked up and I was met by two emotionless pair of orbs, "Time is of its essence. How many times must I tell you that," I mentally rolled my eyes. There he goes again with his historical lecture. Palibhasa di maka-get over sa kapanahunan niya!

I don't really take his scolding seriously, like duh! Ayaw kong sayangin ang buong buhay ko kakaproblema sa ganyan.

"I was petting my cat," tumaas ang kilay niya. Naupo na ako at kaagad namang pumunta ang maid sa gilid ko para ipaghanda ako.

"Petting?" He repeated.

"Fine. I wasn't petting her. She was completely ignoring me," I said then started slicing the beef sirloin.

"Anyway, restrain from causing trouble at your school again. I suppose you still remember our deal," Saad niya. He lifted a piece of meat using his fork and ate it delicately.
