|•Chapter 5•|
The first period bell for this afternoon rings. It's time for me to continue ny meager high school existence. Freedom can't come soon enough. I'm not sure how I manage to be here, never mind attend my classes.
Jin came shortly at the door after I did, he had that passive expression plastered on his face again. When he passed at my side, he smiled at me for a brief second- too quick for me to almost notice- and went directly to his seat. His brown hair was disheveled and I notice how his muscles flex as he run his fingers through it. Laughing psycho was beside him; saying something to him, maybe a joke, cause he started laughing. It only occured to me that I was staring at them too long than I intended.
I shifted my gaze.
Literature with Miss Fajardo, a human, is my first period class. Even my random seating ensures no one pays much attention to me-it's near the very back. I've got enough stares since I got here and I certainly don't want Jin's fangirls to eye on me.
Excited is the last thing I feel right now.
Miss Fajardo begins the class and I bearly pay any attention to her. I keep darting my eyes outside the window, and decided that a leaf falling from the tree is the most interesting thing at the moment. The whole noon shifts swiftly just like that.
So far, I only had one class with a demon teacher that I also happened to ditch earlier.
I loop one strap of my bag around my right shoulder. Jin comes up to me along with laughing psycho, that's what I call him since I still don't know his name, and it oddly fits him somehow.
"The dean wants to talk to you," Jin says.
I gave him a questioning look but instead, he cocks his head towards the door and I follow them.
I'm thankful that the hallways are not too crowded. Though even with these small number of viewers, I wouldn't be too confident that the news of this scene won't be on everyone's mouth by tomorrow.
"So," laughing psycho says, I look at him, he is smiling. "You're Helena, right," He says and I nod short. I wasn't even sure if it was a question.
"Yeah."
He seemed unfazed by my rude reply.
"I'm Light by the way." He doesn't extends his hand so I don't bother either. "I heard you wanted to join the student council, I hope it's not because of us," he says again, and I was slightly caught up in what he said. Of course, why didn't it occured to me that he was probably part of the student council too?
All this time his head was slightly turned to my direction, and I just wish for him to trip and fell over the stairs.
"Light that's not for you to tell," Jin interjects in a serious tone.
He stops. Blinks. Breaks into a ridiculous smile then mutters something under his breath. Whatever it is, I'm glad he was kept shut for a moment.
We make an abrupt turn to an unexpected hallway; trudge on the staircase that leads to the very last floor of this building- the fourth floor and we passed by numerous identical doors.
1 door. 2 doors. Until we reach and stopped at the third large wooden door. It's the only one with a different design, like it was built for someone superior in this school. I can hear muffled voices from inside.
Kumatok si Jin bago binuksan ang pinto. He motioned me to follow him inside, so I did.
I was greeted by a man (demon), who I supposed was the dean. He moves methodically as he inspects my being, and seats himself at the front of the room. He's dressed impeccably in a blue suit. White t-shirt. No tie.
