Hi.

So here is a little piece on depression and self-harm. Both of which I can admit I still deal with on a daily basis. I can only hope this helps any of you that read this.

DEPRESSION: described as feeling, blue, sad, unhappy or down in the dumps.

Kind of a vague dismissive description isn't it? People like to dismiss depression as a bad day or a passing fad when it can really lead to a serious mental problems. There are many diffrent kinds of depression but the symptoms for clinical depression are as follows:

-Insomnia or sleeping all the time.

-Eating all the time or not at all.

-Feelings of guilt or worthlessness.

-Feelings of hopelessness or pessimism.

-Irritability or restlessness.

-Feelings of sadness, anxiousness or irritability.

-Persistant pains like headaches, body aches, digestive problems or cramps that don't go away with treatment.

-Feeling 'empty'.

-Thoughts of suicide or suicide attempts.

-Loss of interest in hobbies, everyday activities or sex.

-Fatigue/ decreased energy.

-Difficulty remembering details, concentrating or making decisions.

If you feel most of these, tell someone. Go to the doctor and get it sorted out because no matter what anyone says, you know how you feel. There doesn't have to be a reason you're sad. Sometimes you just ARE and there is nothing wrong with that but If you think you need some help crawling through the darkness and getting to the light then do it.

SELFHARM: Does not always mean cutting. Could be self-bruising, scratching, self-embedding, self-poisioning, burning or reckless behavior. Anorexia and Bulimia are also classified as self-harm. Its used as a way of control, self-punishment, or release. When you harm may give one a feeling of ecstacy which is endorphines being released in you brain. It can become addicting and as such can cause a serious problem to your physcial and mental health.

I don't condone it and I would never wish the need to do it on anyone but It is a sadly common problem.

It may not seem like it now but it'll get better.

Not a happy section but one needing to be said.

If you need support or just someone to talk to, I'm here and you're not burdening me. I'll talk you through anything you need because if you feel like no one is here for you, I will be that person happily.

You all matter to me.
