Alan's POV

I smiled at my husband as I held our son in my arms. He was sleepy, but we wanted to see Santa today before the line got way too long. We didn't want to wait hours on end to see one man impersonating some fat lug who lives up North.

"Lucas," I said softly holding Vic's hand with my free one as we waited in line.

"What?" he whined.

"It's almost our turn. Are you ready to see Santa?"

"I'm tired," he said, burying his face in my shoulder.

"I know, but we're gonna see Santa and then we get to do some Christmas shopping."

"I wanna take a nap," he said.

"You can later, I promise."

"Fine," he mumbled.

"Don't be fussy, okay?"

He nodded and rubbed his eyes.

"You okay?" I asked looking at my husband who'd been quiet this whole time.

He nodded. "Santa freaks me out," he muttered.

"Why?"

"The whole idea of Santa is messed up. I mean, it's a fat man who stalks you all year to find out if you've been good or bad, then he breaks into your house with presents that were made by tiny slaves. How does he even know who's been good or bad, it's creepy!"

"You're so dumb, it's just a silly holiday thing."

"It's creepy and weird," he mumbled.

"Get over it," I said as it was our turn for Santa. I walked up to Santa with Lucas and set him down.

Lucas smiled at me before he started talking to Santa once he asked him what he wanted.

"I can't believe you're letting that thing touch our son," Vic mumbled.

"Chill out, it's Santa!" I said happily.

"It's a freak in a red suit and a fake beard."

"Just shut up," I said elbowing him.

"Ow!" He whined.

"Don't ruin Santa."

"I'm not! He's still sitting on that fat bastard's lap."

"Shut it," I snapped.

Vic let out a sigh and crossed his arms.  I glared at him and grabbed his hand.   He scowled but held my hand nonetheless.

"What do you want for Christmas?" He asked me.

"Another kid."

"What!" Vic shouted.

"Shush," I said before picking Lucas up when the pictures were taken and we got them.

"Hey buddy," Vic said, picking Lucas up. "What did you ask Santa for?"

"A brother and legos."

"You want a brother?" Vic asked warily.

"Yeah."

"Why? If you have a brother you have to share all of your toys and everything," he said.

"Sharing is caring Mama," Lucas said smiling at Vic.

"I mean I guess," Vic said, giving Lucas a small smile.

"So I want a brother."

"We'll think about it," Vic told him. "It's a lot of work."
