She felt her phone vibrate in her pocket. She checked the notifications. Her mom texted her.

Mom: You have no reason so worry about the photoshoot.
Mom: I made sure it was canceled :))

Mei's eyes widened. She re-read the notifications three times. She pinched herself hard to make sure she was awake. She winced in pain, it definitely hurts. She was feeling a mixture of emotions - both relief and worry. She should be happy. It's over. What if this gets out? Her chest started to hurt.

Mom

Are you serious? Is it actually canceled?

Yeah. My company is much bigger than that modelling company you worked at. I could easily make his stocks plummet if I wanted to.

Is that why? You blackmailed them?

I'm sorry sweetie. But they clearly was making your life harder.

What if this gets out? I'm going to break up with Oikawa. Then everyone is going to call me a fraud at school. They already don't really like me.

We can discuss the details during dinner. I have to continue to work.
The driver will soon come to pick you up
See you at home

Mei's knees gave out, and she collapsed to the ground. Her heart was hammering inside her chest, it felt like it was going to come out. She took a deep breath to calm herself down. She opened her messages with Oikawa and texted him.

Creepykawa

My mother canceled the shoot. We don't have to date anymore.
These few days have been hectic, but thank you.
I'm sorry.

Mei was about to delete his number, but decided not to just in case he called. She rushed outside into the freezing cold air. She looked for her driver. She spotted the car and rushed inside. Her driver drove off. She checked her phone again to see if Oikawa read the messages. He didn't. She let out a sigh. Maybe he's still talking to Iwaizumi..

When Mei got home, she flopped on her bed. Her mother wasn't going to be home for another hour. She closed her eyes, and eventually dozed off.

The world was aquiver.
Shaking. Blurring at the edges.
Mei couldn't tell up from down.
She wasn't sure if she was breathing.
Things eventually started to clear up and she could breath again.
It was her mother and father fighting again in their old apartment.
They're both screaming.
She watched as her father grabbed his suitcase and leaves the house.
Her mother collapses to the ground, crying.
Mei tries to walk up to her mother, to help her clam down.
Mei freezes up.
She chokes as she was pulled apart
She was slowly exploding from the inside out...
A scream was torn from her chest.
Quickly, a shadow fell, washing away the blinding sharpness of the apartment.
A moment of silence. Then everything shattered.

A sweet, smooth, mellifluous music flowed gently through the glass.
The mirrored edge of the world had broken into a million pieces, too thick to ever see through, but still the music came.
Relief floods her existence.
The dulcet golden melody washed over everything, leaving a sort of glow in its wake. Honeyed, sweetly mellow, liquid, rich, smooth, euphonious. Slowly, slowly-slowly, she emerged.
This feeling, she couldn't capture it with words.
