Mitch

"Please bring them to me. I'd like to see them." The worked bowed his head before walking down the hall and out of my sight. I nervously bit my nails as the worker was gone.

Why are they down here? Did they do something wrong? Were they just being stupid? I need to find a way to send them back home.

The far door clicked open and I turned around, seeing Kirstie and Kevin making their way down the hall, the worker following behind them. They were fully dressed in clothes I had given the worker. I rushed forward and brought the two into a tight hug. I felt them hug me back even tighter and I smiled at the gesture before standing on my heels and looking at the two.

"I'm so glad to see you two. I just wish it were someplace else. What are you two doing down here in the first place?" I questioned.

"Kirstie brought us to this weird portal in an alleyway and then we were sucked inside of it and brought to this castle. That's all I can really say. It happened sometime during our break." Kevin spoke.

"You two shouldn't be here. I need to bring you two back home." I said quickly and grabbed their hands.

"Are you coming with us? We need you back at home, Mitch." Kirstie said, pulling me back a bit.

"I can't Kirstie. I need to stay here. I was chosen."

"Mitch. You don't deserve to stay in Hell. None of us do. You belong in Heaven if anything." Kevin spoke next.

"Kevin, but don't talk like that down here. If he heard you, he'd kill you." I hushed.

"Who's He?"

"The Devil!" I said quickly and heard a zapping sound and felt a presence behind me making a chill go down my spine. A large hand was placed on my hip and I was pulled into Blondie's embrace.

"Angel, what are you doing? You shouldn't be talking to these two."

"They're my friends, Blondie. Please send them back home." I pleaded, looking up at him with watery eyes.

"Angel, you know I can't do that. They either get sent to be a worker or their soul is placed in a bottle. You know this."

"But can't you spare them?! They're my friends and they don't belong here!" I pushed myself from Blondie's embrace and felt hot tears running down my cheeks. "What if I was in that crowd of humans?! Wouldn't you spare me a chance?!" I saw Blondie's face turn and I regretted saying what I had. I turned towards Kirstie and Kevin and started pushing them back down the hall and into the room they had come out of.

-

Later that day, I walked into Blondie's room and saw him sitting on the bed, reading several files that were unknown to me. I knocked gently on the door before tiptoeing farther into the room. "Blondie?"

Blondie looked up and the files disappeared from his hands. He stood up and walked over to me. I could tell his eyes were red and puffy. I leaned up and gently grasped the sides of his neck. "I'm sorry about what I said earlier."

Blondie sent his hands against my hips and closed his eyes, resting his forehead against mine. "Don't you ever talk like that again, you hear me? Death wishes like that are more likely to come true down here than the human world. You could say something and it'd happen in a heartbeat." He pecked my lips gently and wrapped his large arms around me, continuing to plant kisses against my neck and shoulder.
