Lauren's PoV

I woke the next morning to find Camila's arms wrapped around my waist, her head pressed into the crook of my neck. My heart fluttered at the sight, and I groggily sat up to examine the large hotel room. Although Camila's double bed was extremely big, we were both bunched together in the middle, a loose duvet hanging over us.

I looked out of the small windows by the edge of the bed, and my eyebrows furrowed when I was met with pure white. I must still be half asleep. That, or my eyes were deceiving me.

I pulled the covers off me and walked closer to the window, looking down into the completely empty streets. My eyes were met with snow. Not just some snow- tons of it.

The snow was ridiculously high, so high I'd only thought that kind of snow was seen in movies. The doors of many shops and houses were snowed in, and you could hardly see the cars because of the overflowing snow.

"Fuck." I mumbled, turning to wake Camila up. "Camila, camzzz. Look outside."

She groaned as she stretched her arms out in front of her. Her eyes were tired and droopy from sleep, and her hair was falling out of its messy bun.

"Come look out the window." I urged her quickly, pushing her towards it. She rubbed her eyes and peeked out of the window, intaking a large breath.

"Oh my shit!" She gasped. "That snow's incredibly high."

I watched her as she ran to her dresser and began to shove on random items of clothes. She grabbed a brush to comb her hair before grabbing on a pair of vans.

"Stay here for a minute. I have to speak to Mr Rogers."

So I sat on the bed and waited in silence, and when Camila came back with a panicked expression on her face I knew things weren't good.

We were supposed to leave for home by 8 am this morning- it was now six- and no doubt with this amount of snow we wouldn't be able to leave.

"Are we stuck here?" I asked her as she closed the door behind her.
"We are." Camila sighed and sat down next to me. "Mr Rogers and Miss Clarke are phoning everyone's parents. I have no idea when the snow will clear up. Heck, it's still snowing right now."

"Shit." I grumbled, lying back down on the bed. "What if we can't get home in time for Christmas? Or New Year's Eve?"

"Calm down Laur." Camila mumbled as she lied next to me. "It's only the eleventh today. Let's not look too far ahead."

So we didn't.

By the next day the snow had grown even higher, and again the day after that. The whole grade was gathered down in one of the hotel's spare halls as we listened to a New York news reporter intently.

"Now for the weather," the woman on the tv said with a thin forced smile. "On the evening of the tenth of December a huge snow storm hit New York, and its only got worse ever since. Snow is now at a high of twenty inches, meaning the biggest snow fall since the 1950's."

"Fantastic." I mumbled to Shawn. "Twenty fucking inches."

"Over 2000 planes have been cancelled due to the heavy snow fall, meaning over 100,00 people have missed their flights for Christmas. Around 800 planes have been fully functioning within the past twenty four hours, but it is still unsafe to go outside in cars. Thousands of roads have been closed down, and by the looks of it the snow will continue to be here for the next week or so."
