- Lookin' out for love...
Chapter Nine (Nicky's POV)
I put on my best smile and tried to ignore Raymond's glare on me.
It's like another day in the cafeteria, sitting with Leo, Seong Rim, and yes, Raymond Rome. Seong Rim was munching away in her tupperware diced fruits, hoping to slice down some weights. Leo, like always, bought some high calories food that would cause him high blood pressure for his lunch choice. As for Raymond and I, we decided to feed on each other's presence. I pretty sure Raymond Rome was a soul seeker, slowly devouring my precious energy. I felt drained whenever he was near me, mostly in Chemistry class that we shared. Leo was talking happily with Raymond, he even talked to Seong Rim. I was dead to him if I didn't start a conversation first. I sighed and stole one of Seong Rim's fruits, sticking it into my mouth.
Another day, another adventure.
The only different was, Tiara Scarlet wasn't here.
To be honest, I was overjoyed, possibly floating on cloud nine now. My face might look expressionless, guilty as charged I was pretty excited what would happen between Leo and I without the presence of the Queen herself.
Now the King, is finally mine.
"So, you guys wanna come to Landon's party?" I snapped out from my la-la land and actually surprised by Leo's invitation directly at me. Although he was saying 'guys', but his eyes were on me! I grinned from ear to ear and kind of starstruck for a moment.
Leo's baby blue eyes darted between my face when I drawled a 'yes' slowly. Everytime I look into his eyes, I feel like I can stay for a lifetime. They were far more different than Matthew's, the captivation was stronger and more attractive. Leo smiled, showing his perfect pearly teeth. He turned back to Raymond and started to discuss about what they were going to do at the party. Raymond looked bored, trying to entertain himself in his mind. I frowned, I would die for that kind of attention from Leo.
Ungrateful brat.
"Psk!" Seong Rim poked my ribs with her fork. I rolled my eyes and stick another piece of diced fruit into my mouth. Oh, apple.
"Psk!" Seong Rim hissed again, she thought no one heard her but she was actually quite loud.
I gestured to come closer, she did as I whispered into her ear.
"We can hear you, you know?"
Her cheeks quickly turned bright red beneath her fair skin. She smiled to herself and ran her fingers through the river-flowing hair. Her fingers got stuck in the middle as I started to laugh, she hit me but I laughed harder when her fingers really stuck. I was still laughing when there's a crowd started to appear next to the gigantic window of our cafeteria. It had great view of our school garden and parking lot.
The world's greatest principal in Loraz High was hoping his children were able to enjoy the nature more than cooping up in a small classroom. He even encouraged the teachers to teach their classes outdoor. But the only thing that's green and good for the eyes was the oversized hedge that the gardener was too lazy to trim.
And that's because we didn't have any gardener.
"What do you think they are looking at?" Leo started to speak, he nudged at Raymond as the brat was busy texting again. Raymond scowled and moved away a bit, his fingers kept hitting the phone and he might be punished for techology violence.
"Probably cute puppies that lost their ways, I just love puppy. Don't you, Nicky?"
"Erm..." I drawled when Leo and I exchaged the look, "sure."
