Chapter 41

••Sophie••

I woke up to crying and I looked at my phone.

1:30am

I groaned and pulled a pillow over my head, trying to drown out the crying. Why do babies cry so much ? I don't understand.

After about ten minutes of him crying, I gave up on trying to sleep and I sat up. I let my feet fall over the side of the bed and hit the hardwood below them. I made my way to the door and walked out and down the hallway to Bens room.

I twisted the door handle slowly and quietly because I didn't wanna wake him up yet. Maybe he was already away like me. It would be a lot easier on my side.

" Sophie ? " I heard once I opened the door. I looked at him and saw that he was standing up, about to walk to his door.

" yes ?" I asked, trying to sound innocent.

" can't sleep either ?" He asked and I nodded, then realized that it was pitch black in here, so he couldn't see me nod.

" yeah.." I said and walked over to him. He looked at me and sighed.

" I was actually about to come to your room but since your here.." He said and I smiled.

" can I- can I sleep with you ? " I asked, slightly embarrassed. He smiled and nodded at me. He laid down on his bed and then I laid next to him with the space he left me.

Iv seen mum and dad cuddle and I know for sure me and him are not doing that. We are about a foot or two away from each other.

I just feel like if I'm in someone else's presence, I might be able to fall asleep. It works when mum and dad come to me or I go in their room, so I hope it works now.

" PANCAKES !" Dad yelled and I jerked awake because of Ben. I groaned and looked at him. He innocently smiled at me and I rolled my eyes

" your becoming more and more sassier since you have been with uncle Louis." He says and I smile, taking that as a compliment.

" why thank you kind sir !" I yelled and walked out of the room with him just standing there. I giggled and say down at my seat. There was fresh hot, blueberry pancakes stacked on my plate and my mouth was already watering.

" thanks dad !" I said with pancake in my mouth.

" soph. Talk with your mouth closed." Ben said and I glared at him.

" HA ! I get it, he's like saying not to talk- yeah okay. Bye." Uncle Louis said, coming out of no where. I snorted and dad started laughing, shaking his head.

" we are all going out for dinner tonight right Lou ?" Dad asked and uncle Louis nodded, smiling.

" and before the dinner. We are going somewhere." Mum said, walking into the kitchen with Mason.

" where ?" I asked, getting excited a bit. She chuckles and shake her head.

" we aren't telling." Dad said and took Mason from mum. He poked dad in the cheek and he smiled.

" he's so cute, watch he will grow into a mini me." Uncle Louis said and we all looked at him before laughing.

" if anything, he will look like me, but act like him." Mum said and pointed to dad.

" oh god." I say and everyone laughs. It's nice to have everyone back for a while. I know dad will have to leave soon and I'm not ready yet. I just got back to them being home, and now they are leaving again. I miss my old pal.

" TURN THAT FROWN UPSIDE DOWN ! " uncle Harry yelled, coming out of no where like uncle Louis did and ran to me. He put his two index fingers on the sides of my mouth and lifted them up. " that's better."

I smiled and rolled my eyes, while he started doing a victory dance. I don't see why it's such a victory, I'm always smiling- just kidding I'm not always, but close !

" where do you two just come from ? You pop out of no where and just random hop into the conversation too." Ben said and they shrugged, smirking at each other.

" they know, they just won't tell us." I said and they looked at us with wide eyes. " knew it."

" what- how- uh "

" I know, I know. I'm just that fantastic. " I said, dramatically flipping my hair over my shoulder.

" yeah right. " uncle Louis snorted and everyone laughed.

" WE ARE GOING BOWLING ?!" I exclaimed, jumping out of the car with Ben and running toward the door.

" go after them, I got Mason." Mum said but then next thing I knew, mum was at our sides. HA DAD WON THIS TIME SUCKER.

" guessing dad told you to ?" I asked as we walked in.

" yeah, he said he wants to do all the things he can't while he's gone and he wants to hold him again." Mum said and chuckled at the end.

" dads such a girl." I said and she nodded, laughing.

" hello, welcome to Strike Out, just grab your shoe size, a ball and a lane. " A guy asked and I looked at Ben with a smile.

" let's go !" I yelled and grabbed his hand. We ran to the shoes and found our size, then grabbed a ball. I could see mum getting a lane while dad walked in, looking around the alley.

" need help with getting a ball ?" A guy asked and we looked at him. He didn't work here so Id rather not let him help us..

" uh, no thanks. We are just getting our shoes." Ben said, since I didn't say anything. The man looked at us closely and I made a run for it, pulling Ben with me.

" I WON, I WON I WON I WON !" I yelled, dancing around. Ben and dad looked at me with wide mouths while mum had a proud smile on her face. She sat out this round because her back was hurting, so it was me against the two boys.

" no ! " they both cried out and I smiled, taking in that I actually bet dad and Ben.

" good job Sophie ! " mum yelled and I ran and gave her a hug. " they suck."

We pulled away and I started laughing. The two were looking at us like we were crazy but it's okay, we are crazy together, and that's all that matters.
