Moonshade sat beside her brother, sitting vigil. Not long ago, the sun was still in the sky and the clan cheered their new names. Everything was fine, Moonshade wondered what Sunpaw was doing, if she was even still Sunpaw. Was she happy now? Sighing, Moonshade glanced at Aspenbreeze. He was drowsily watching the moon above as it slowly rose over the forest.

But then, the stars seemed to move. Only they weren't moving, something else that shined was. It was coming closer and closer as it grew in size, and Moonshade could make out the forms of cats, but they did not twinkle the way a warrior of Silverpelt would.

Alarmed, she looked to her cinnamon colored littermate. He did not seem to notice. Was he so focused on the moon? Was he asleep with his eyes open?

Moonshade got to her paws.

Alerted, Aspenbreeze looked at her with ears pricked. She tried communicating to him by flicking her tail at the sky. He looked but then tilted his head with a questioning gaze. Sighing, Moonshade looked around, seeing that they would soon be among them.

She raced to the medicine cat den.

"Ashlight!" She broke her silence, "Ashlight help us!"

The black tom groggily emerged from the back of the den, "Is it morning already?"

"No," Moonshade told him, "but something bad is happening!"

"Better be," he muttered, "you broke your silence!"

"Just-,"

But she was interrupted. A young meow was echoing through camp.

"Everyone get up," he called, "come quick, the warriors are coming!"

Soon everyone was in the center of the camp. The cats looked around questioningly. Moonshade saw the tom who had spoken was Bluepaw, a white tom with black forehead and ears, forepaw, tailtip, and a small patch on his flank. His blue eyes were wide, staring at the sky, darting from cat to cat. Moonshade understood he saw them too.

"What is the meaning of this?" Spottedstar demanded, annoyed.

Palerose meowed from the nursery entrance, "I don't sense any threat."

Slatefur hissed, "The kits need sleep!"

Ashlight spoke calmly, "They aren't warriors of the clans, but they are warriors of the goddess Snowlily speaks of to the apprentices. They are coming down from far above SIlverpelt."

Bluepaw meowed, "Don't you see? They're going to destroy us! Goddess is coming back and is more powerful than before...."

Moonshade gasped, "That can't be true!" Surely Sunpaw had not been right to obsess over the tale.

Ashlight thoughtfully commented, "I cannot say that is what is happening, but perhaps he is right."

"I know it is," Bluepaw insisted, it is like Snowlily says, cats with blue eyes can see these things. I have blue eyes."

"I don't," Moonshade meowed.

Riverice approached her, their pelts brushing. He pointed out, "But StarClan speaks with you, our future leader."

Ashlight sighed, "And they speak with me, the medicine cat." He blinked his hazel eyes at the sky.

The warriors of Goddess were walking among the clan cats now. They sniffed at them and snorted with contempt. But soon, they left. They were gone much faster than they approached.

"Can we go back to sleep now?" Stormyfern wearily asked. The deputy had been feeling her age, it was obvious to everyone.

Ashlight nodded, "Yes, we are safe tonight."

Moonshade's fur stood on end. Only tonight?
