A few weeks pass, and things slowly start to go back to normal between Tiberius and I. Not that I'm exactly sure what normal ever was... but I am happy, so that's something.

Suddenly my door flies open making me jump, panicked.

"Happy Birthday!" Alysa and Jess both scream entering my room.

"Wait, how-" before I can finish my sentence, they both jump onto my bed.

They both bounce on either side of me, causing me to rock back and forth.

"I say we go out and eat! Our baby is 18!" Alysa says, looking at Jess.

"Awe! All gwown up!" Jess says in a baby voice.

I can't help but giggle, despite not really wanting to go anywhere.

For as long as I can remember, every birthday since I was about 8 has been the same.

Mom takes off work and keeps me home from school if my birthday fell over the week. We start out the day by going to Joe's, a pancake house near where we lived.

Then after pancakes, we would go out shopping, mani and peti's, and then we would get facials and back massages.

Once our day of pampering was over, we would go to Redbox and rent at least 3 movies to watch.

By the time we would get home, dad would be home and after dinner, which was always my choice, of course, we would all cuddle on the couch and watch movies.

My birthday has always been a day I wait for every year... but not this year. And probably never again.

All those things that made my birthday so special to me, weren't being pampered, or going shopping, it was spending time with my parents.

Every year, I could tell my mom waited for my birthday, she felt that she was too old to treat herself on her birthday, so she treated both of us on my birthday, which I adored.

I loved watching how happy she was for us to have a day off from all the chaos of work and school.

And my dad would look forward to coming home and spending quality time with his family.

But the two people who made my birthday so special are gone...

I know I should be grateful to have people around me care enough to celebrate my birthday with me, but I can't help that this day makes me sad, remembering all the fun times me and my parents had.

"So what do you wanna do Rosalie?" Jess asks.

I smile weakly between the two of them.

"Actually I-"

"Oh no, you don't! I already know what you're going to say, I think I just wanna stay in my room and mope," Jess says using her special "Rosalie voice".

I sigh.

"Come on, at least come downstairs," Alysa says, grabbing my hands.
