Secret Santa always made Lucas nervous. Not because he couldn't afford it but because he was always nervous that he'd get Maya. Maya was by far the worst to shop for. She was especially picky and hard to shop for.

When they drew names Lucas prayed that he wouldn't get Maya. He had a 1 in 5 chance that he'd pick her so when he did pick Maya he started to panic.

"Who'd you get, Lucas?" Zay asks.

"You're not supposed to know, Zay." Riley replies with a frown.

"I know but-"

"Zay, for once, could you just let the person surprise you. It's not fun when you know who has you." Maya laughs.

For the past couple years, Zay has managed to figure out who has who for Secret Santa and always told everyone so by the time the gift exchange happened it wasn't really a surprise. It was getting annoying.

"Okay, so when is the exchange happening?" Smackle asks.

"I think after Christmas. The 27th again?" Farkle suggests. Everyone nods and agrees and they all part ways.

Lucas shops for what feels like days, trying to find the perfect gift for Maya. He knew she wouldn't want any clothes, she didn't need make up, she didn't really want anything. Maya learned a long time ago to be thankful for everything she had.

It was a week before the exchange and Lucas still couldn't think of anything. He was shopping with Maya and was trying to figure out what she wanted.

"Are we shopping for Secret Santa?" Lucas asks her.

"No. I'm shopping for Shawn and my mom." Maya replies, picking up a necklace and then setting it back down.

They weave in and out of stores. The streets are packed and Lucas finds it hard to keep track of Maya on account of how short she was. He finally decides to just hold her hand and let her guide him around.

They're browsing when Maya all of the sudden gasps. "Lucas, look!" She's pointing at a snow globe. It's the Eiffel Tower with swirling glitter and snow. "I've been dreaming of going to Paris."

"Why?" Lucas asks.

"The art and the history. It's all I've ever wanted since I've been little." Maya says with a sigh. Lucas smiles at her and squeezes her hand.

"You'll get there, Maya." Lucas replies.

The day comes with snowflakes falling lazily from the sky. This year it was at Maya's house. Riley was helping Maya do the last minute decorations before everyone was there.

"I think we're done!" Riley smiles happily at their work. Right then the boys and Smackle walk in.

Like always, they order take out and make hot cocoa. The sit around in the living room and chat for awhile until Riley gets so excited that she can't sit still.

"I think it's time for presents." Farkle calls out. Everyone brings their presents out and set them down in front of them. Zay was beyond excited since he actually didn't figure out who had who this year. Everyone picks up their presents and they all unwrap them at the same time.

Lucas watches Maya. She carefully opens the box and gasps. "What is it, Maya?" Riley asks, hugging the stuffed teddy bear that Zay had gotten her.

Maya holds up the snow globe of Paris. She's beaming. She looks over at Lucas. "I can't believe you got it. Thank you." Lucas is surprised when she hugs him. He holds her tight.

"I have something else. It's for after though." He whispers. He feels Maya nod her head and they part.

The night ends when Riley falls asleep on the couch and Zay starts to get moody. Everyone files out except for Lucas. He remains standing in the kitchen while Maya says goodbye.

"You're making me nervous, Ranger Rick. What's going on?" Maya asks. She leans against the table with her arms folded.

"I got you another gift." Lucas says. He hands her the envelope in his hand.

"Lucas, you got me something already. I love it. What more could you give me?" Maya asks.

"I really think you deserve this." Lucas replies. Maya opens the envelope and reads the paper. Lucas expects her to scream but she doesn't.

"Maya, are you okay?" Lucas asks worriedly. She's crying. Like actually crying.

"Lucas...I don't know what to say. Paris!" Maya stutters out. "How did you get these tickets?"

"I have a cousin who lives there. She's in need of a house sitter while she's gone so I thought you and me could go." Lucas says.

"Thank you so much." Maya sobs. She pulls Lucas in for a hug.

"Merry Christmas, Maya."

Maya pulls back and smiles up at him. "Merry Christmas, Lucas. I love you."

"I love you, too."
